Due to performance issues (loading screen constantly getting stuck in a loop) I removed and reinstalled YouTubeTV. After much struggle, I was able to get the app to work. However, I don’t have the option to add the app back to my channels on the Home Screen. I’ve tried system software update, network connect check, restart, and nothing seems to work. Can anyone help troubleshoot this?
I know this reply may be too late and hopefully you already solved your issue, but if not this is what worked for me!
Using your remote:
Go to Settings>scroll down to Home screen>right arrow to App Order> right arrow to Automatic (which is set to Automatic by default)>down arrow to Manual and click/tap to highlight it, then press OK to choose Manual. Exit by pressing Home button on the remote.
Problem Solved... all apps now showing on Home menu!

If you log into your Roku account via that link and search for YouTube TV, will it install from there?
I tried that, and it doesn’t give me the option. I guess the Roku tv knows that I already have it installed, it just won’t let me add it to my Home Screen
I’m confused because it sounds like you already reinstalled the app and “was able to get the app to work”. But I don’t understand how you could do all that without having the app on your home screen.
Also, on the picture above, you show the browse page, but what happens when you click on details? It’s the next page (after clicking on Details) where the add channel button should be.
I have this same problem with the Frndly app. It's available by searching for it under Streaming Services, where it is shown as installed, and the only choice is Open App. Note that in my case the subscription was purchased outside of Roku, and then "added" to Roku via searching Streaming Services, and clicking Sign In (or something like that, don't remember exactly what the wording was).
Welcome, and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community, @DSN2121.
We appreciate you letting us know about this and we'd be happy to provide further information regarding this matter.
The app will be added to the bottom of the list of apps on the home screen. If you prefer, the app can be moved higher up the list. Kindly double-check if this app is already on your Home screen.
We'll be looking forward to your update.
Best regards,
Carly
@RokuCarlyIf the app was on my home screen I wouldn't have posted to this thread! It's not at the bottom of the list (where I know it SHOULD have been when added) or anywhere else. That's the point. Same problem as the originator of this thread has with YouTubeTV app. We have the apps installed and working, they're just NOT on the home screen AT ALL.
Thanks for the added information, @DSN2121.
In cases like this, have you tried removing an app you don't often use? We recommend removing apps on your Home screen that you don't often use to free up space for new apps.
After doing so, let us know if it's already visible and we'll go from there.
Best regards,
Carly
There are only 14 apps. The bottom row only has 2 icons, so clearly there is space for a 15th app to fill the 5th row.
Thanks for clarifying, @DSN2121.
In this case, I will coordinate this with the appropriate team to conduct a thorough investigation. With this being said, kindly provide us with the specific information such as follows:
I'll be looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
Carly
