Hey Greengo,
If by chance you haven't fixed your issue, go to page 3 here to see my solution and see if it works for you.

A factory reset doesn't fix this either. The check mark went away yesterday, but when I started to watch my fire tv, the check mark is back. I have tried everything. I have a 55 in Hisense Roku tv. Never had this problem before. It is very frustrating. Is there anyone out there that knows how to fix this so I can toggle through to the apps? Thank you.
Hello @polliwag,
Thanks for posting in the Roku Community! We are glad to have you here.
We saw in your post that the channels you added on your Roku aren’t showing up on your Home screen. Thanks for trying some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. No worries we’re here to assist!
Before we proceed, could you please tell us if this happened from all of the added channels or only on specific channels?
We would like to take a closer look into this issue so please provide us with the following:
We look forward to your response.
Cheers,
Riamie
Hi @polliwag,
I don't know what your particular device is, so I'm not sure if this solution will work for you or not, but it couldn't hurt giving it a shot 😊. It has worked for others here as you could see by going through other posts on this thread. I hope the following works for you!
Using your remote:
Go to "Settings">scroll down to "Home Screen">right arrow to "App Order"> right arrow to "Automatic" (which is set to Automatic by default)>down arrow to "Manual" and press "OK" to highlight it, then press OK to choose "Manual". Exit by pressing "Home" button on the remote.
Best Regards,
ImaKuKu
I don’t know if you’ll see this; but I am experiencing the same issue. Carly was not understanding the issue…I’ll go ahead and factory reset. I’ve been searching for days to find a solution and I’m getting very frustrated. I’m a sad lonely human with very few pleasures in life and watching something at the end of the day to take my mind off things keeps me sane. If Roku won’t work I’ll have to switch to something else.
I hope this reaches you before you do a reset. I think a reset would be a royal pain.
Posted a fix a couple of months ago that worked for me, but I don’t see it online now. I have a Roku device and not a Roku TV, so I don’t know if this will work for a TV. Probably worth a try before a reset.
I called Roku, chatted with them and even asked online and found no help. In fact they seemed a bit brain dead and just repeated the same script which doesn’t work.
Download the Roku app for your phone and sign in. You’ll be able to see the app you added there and then you can remove it. That will allow you to add it again on your device. After doing that it finally showed up.
Good luck!
I am having this EXACT problem, but this thread is making it difficult to see the ACTUAL solution to the issue. I can search for and then OPEN APP, but there's no option to add it back to the Home App Screen. I have to search for YoutubeTV app every single time I want to enter the app. I see a lot of back and forth in this thread, but cannot find the solution. Please help.
I am having the same problem as the user you replied to. You ask the very question we both have, "How can you search for an app to install it and it not show on the home screen?" EXACTLY.
So, if I delete the YoutubeTV app, but then later decide to re-add it, but the system only allows for Search and then OPEN APP, why on earth would there be no space available to add the app back? If you subtract an app, and then without adding other apps you try to re-install it, then SPACE is NOT the issue. Does anyone here actually KNOW, or is it all just guess work?
EDIT: To fix this issue DO NOT DO A FACTORY RESET!!. Roku Support doesn't know what they're doing. "kvgrow" is absolutely correct (thank you, by the way). Simple solution. (1) Go to your mobile device and open up the Roku App (install if not already done). (2) Search for the app, in my case it was YoutubeTV, and then remove it from the mobile app. (3) Go back to your Roku device and search for the app in question. When you select it, it will not longer say "OPEN APP". It will instead say "ADD APP". It will then be back on your Home Page, but as the last app on the list. Click the Astericks (*) to MOVE APP wherever you like.
Not sure how Roku Support Chat, nor Roku Community Moderators, don't know this by now. This thread is 4 pages long over many many months. Thanks again, "kvgrow", you have more desire to understand the device than the people at Roku.
