Roku outdoor camera is not recording, but it takes photos

Jump to solution

I am having this issue as well. I got a replacement camera and since then it will not record. It will only take pictures. I've turned off all the settings and turned them back on. I power cycled the camera and the base multiple times. The article that was suggested in this topic did not fix the problem either.

I'd like to reply to this as Roku's customer support is incompetent in most cases.  I have found 3 issues why this happens.  1. Firmware needs to be updated.  2.  Restart the camera.  3. Main reason: I have multiple cameras on the account but only using 2 of them and paying for 2 of them.  The app with randomly remove the most recently added camera from taking video.  The possible solutions are: restart the camera, remove and re-add the camera (loose your past videos though).  Remove any non active cameras from the app.

Hope that helps anyone rather than sitting on a 45 minute chat to do the same thing.
