Why are we still paying for both??????????? Sucks we have to chase everything down and companies cannot follow through with their promises.

It's mainly Paramount's problem, as they added Showtime to the ad-free version. This is one issue when you subscribe through a 3rd party like Roku. You are better off subscribing directly with the services.
There are currently 2 Paramount+ plans. Essential, which has ads and no Showtime ($5.99/$59.99) and the ad-free with Showtime and live local CBS ($11.99/$119.99). Those are the only two plans Paramount has, and Roku can't give up ad-free without Showtime because that plan doesn't exist.
