I am sick of Roku offering subscriptions with auto renewal. How do I get them to stop??

Thanks for the first post to the Roku Community!

We understand that you want to stop receiving channel subscriptions with auto-renewal on Roku. Here are the steps to turn off auto-renewal and cancel channel subscriptions on your Roku streaming device.

Channel subscriptions purchased through Roku can also be canceled on your streaming device.

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote.
  2. Highlight the channel you want to cancel.
  3. Press Star on your remote to open the options menu.
  4. Select Manage subscription.
  5. To unsubscribe, select Cancel subscription.
  6. To confirm, select Cancel subscription.
  7. Select Done

How to turn off auto-renew and cancel subscriptions on your computer or mobile device

To turn off auto-renew and cancel subscriptions purchased with Roku Pay or through The Roku Channel, go to Manage your subscriptions in your Roku account.

  1. Sign in to your Roku account.
  2. Select Manage your subscriptions.
  3. Select the channel or subscription under Active Subscriptions.
  4. Select Turn off auto-renew.
  5. Choose a cancellation reason to complete the process, and select Continue to cancel.

Pretty much all streaming subscriptions automatically renew monthly or annually. It's not unique to Roku, who is just a middleman for most services. If you want to stop a subscription, you need to cancel it.

I canceled my subscription to Fox Nation before the end of billing cycle Nov 17 2024.  

I was billed for it after I opt out of auto renewal.  How can I make sure that there is no auto 

renewal on my account?

Thanks for reaching out to us to confirm if the auto-renew is already turned off. We're here to help.

Here are the steps to check:

  1. Sign in to my.roku.com
  2. Go to My Subscriptions
  3. Under Active subscriptions, select the subscription you want to cancel.
  4. Select Manage subscription and then select Turn off auto-renew.
