Re: How to contact Roku Support?

Jump to solution

No one on this forum can cancel a subscription for you. Log into your Roku user account and look under Subscriptions. If it is being handled by Roku it will be listed there and you can cancel it there.

If there's nothing listed under Subscriptions, then you are being scammed, and not by Roku. If this is the case, your CC information has been stolen and someone is submitting a charge to your CC and claiming to be Roku (but it isn't). If this is true, immediately contest the charge with your CC issuer, ask them to cancel your card and issue you a new one with a new number.

Roku has been taken out from my account for months now they're taking out $5 and $12.99 every month and the thing about it is is that I pay my bill on a totally different card so I want the money that they owe me they should not be pulling that money out does anyone have a phone number or website that I can go on

@-1 this has been answered multiple times. Log into your Roku user account (https://my.roku.com) and look under subscriptions. If you have any legitimate subscriptions through Roku you can manage/cancel them here. Roku will not refund money on subscriptions that have been authorized here.

I you don't see any subscriptions listed here, or at least nothing that matches what is shown on your CC statement, then you are being scammed by someone other than Roku. Scammers can enter anything they want in a free text field, and they are known to use legitimate names that Roku uses to disguise their scam.

If you have been scammed, you need to do two things immediately: contact your CC company and contest the charges, and ask them to cancel your CC and issue you a new one with a different number.

Re: How to contact Roku Support?

Why do all of the answers here repeatedly give directions to support contact information which is unavailable.  I am desperately trying to resolve an ongoing issue and yet every means of contact is either greyed out or not offered at all.  What am I missing?  I sent something via Twitter but have doubts about what if any response from a character limited system.

What is the point behind "contact us" and "support" when there is no actual way to contact provided.  I don't remember ever encountering this.

I'm frustrated, its costly, in the middle of a healthcare crisis in fam, tired so perhaps there is something I am just not getting.  Any guidance would be appreciated.  Thanks

Re: How to contact Roku Support?

I just noticed this post.  If I too where to assume I am being scammed since there is nothing in my "subscriptions" for the service I am being charged for, and the actual service shows they are not the billing party, I am stumped as to how my CC could be cancelled and the newly issued card gets charged again with new billing cycle.  I keep all my online activities as locked down as possible and don't use the account really anywhere else.  The bank had to automatically cancel my card when I first reported unauthorized charge in October.  Had no access to funds for a week, bank investigated and provisionally credited the charge.  To my shock and confusion, there we go with the same charge for November.  Nowhere is there a subscription to manage in the appropriate section, the app is not even installed on devices, never received any type of usual confirmation emails, any email at all.

So much more frustrating and worrying because there is no ability to send an email, no telephone number is listed in the call section and no chat option.  And to top it off, can't remove this CC info because i have actual legit subscriptions.   Insane.

Update:

Chat option was available so I began a chat. Gave all pertinent details from subscription not in the list of subscriptions (as I have not singed up for Sling either intentionally or accidently,) questioned how after bank had to cancel (bank procedure automatic,) and investigate and received no proof of service from Sling (had Sling in 2020 - cancelled also in 2020 and this is reflected via Sling account on device and online,) could there be yet another month charged when there is no access to Sling TV!  10 pages of chat content....oh and don't stop typing for more than 30 seconds because the reps ( I spoke to Gilbert - likely the assigned name to sound US based????) because they keep posting the "automated message" warning if you don't reply in 7 MINUTES, they will have to end the chat.  So funny because all of the time stamps going back & forth occur within the same minute on both sides.  Okay back to content, the blame is on Sling, contact Sling, here's the number, give them this reference/invoice number, etc.   The more targeted my questions where such as just wanting an explanation of if being billed by Sling (and by the way, I already followed all of these inquiries with SLING first after the initial charge in October.  They had nothing indicating that I had any current or recent accounts and not billed by them, billed by Roku.  Same as the bank investigated.  I asked if bank card cancelled and if Sling is the biller, how the **bleep** did they get the newly minted bank card info if I never supplied.  Good ole Gilbert with a whacky response about perhaps change my PIN.

Hmm, how did Sling get my PIN and if done now, obviously would access new one, right???   So that answered morphed into the expected "is there anyone in your household who has your PIN and made a subscription purchase for Sling?"  Well, my 17 year old Pet has never asked, doesn't watch much TV, is totally banned from using any of my electronics, can't access my bank accounts, passwords, MAC addresses, SIMs, USB drives, backups, mail - both snail and email and gosh darn it as I explained to Gil, I have a thing about security...I keep the digital world small and locked down as much as one could.  I mentioned seeing in the "community" here a number of mentions of "scammers."  (Yes, those very fine folks which I steer clear of....no Nigerian prince loans , don't answer the phone, no replies to junk snail mail.)   Asked out of curiosity, since the fine folks in the community seem to be pretty sure of a pervasive scamming operation, what are the support reps been made aware of and how to respond to such inquiries from customers and what if known is the company doing overall to combat.  Afterall, perhaps an email or two would be nice as perhaps customers don't visit the community a lot (oh wait, tere is no official post from Roku itself warning customers or did I miss it in my quest, using the support section to seek answers.  So the reply (automated) that I appear to be idle for some time....time from this question sent until the auto warning was less than 61 seconds.  I quickly typed to Gil that he needs to look at his **bleep** screen so he could ansswer that question.  Dear Gil replied with Sling TV's telephone number - only.  Sends another reply informing to give the transaction number.

Can he help me with anything else.  Got a little bizarre as I asked what suggestion could he offer since Sling TV angle had previously been exhausted because I believed that Sling was the source but claimed 'hey, not us....Roku, the bank said Roku as per their completion of investigation.  I thought hey, I can't keep going around and around and if I contact the bank about the new fee, the new CC gets cancelled and I wait yet another week without this payment source, until yet another card is issued and will the bank not compensate because they won't believe me.  I asked also about removing the current card but alas because I do have two totally un-Sling related subscriptions, the only way I can remove this payment method is by cancelling the active subscriptions, so would the ultimate best advice be to stop subs, cancel Roku account and put device in the dead-device pile.  Survey says "Call Sling."

I know this is a tremendously long post but I have never seen so many similar themed posts at the same time and over the years I don't recall billing issues being so noticeable.  Perhaps something has changed somewhere but **bleep** if I know.  All I know is that I had my first Roku device when Roku was born and delivered the first pups to store shelves.  **bleep**,  I have converted so many people over the years so I know at least a smidge about the various ways to initiate subscriptions, auto-renewals, payment options, PINS and those funny little emails you get to confirm your new subscriptions and all of the fun ones that come to tell you what's new.  Basically, USER beware.   Take notes....dates, times of purchases, if you want to cancel something, make note of when you have done so, watch your bank and or credit card statements, keep track of names, date and times of you speak to.  Not very helpful here but is a good rule of thumb for all services and goods.  🙄

Re: How to contact Roku Support?

@Whmedders there is no subscription to Roku itself. There are services you can subscribe to through Roku, but using the device has no cost involved. As we've already said multiple times in this thread, log into your Roku user account and check for any subscriptions there. Anything you want to cancel can be done there.

If you find no subscriptions listed under your account, then you are not being billed by Roku. It doesn't matter what your CC statement says, as scammers can enter any text they want in the name field. If you are being scammed, you need to immediately contact your CC company, contest the charges, and ask them to cancel your card and issue you one with a new number.

@Whmedders if you are asking about how to extract yourself from Roku, just cancel the account.  If it is to avoid charges from channels or apps that you have not or do not want, I was told to just change my PIN.  That is what support offered but alias, another unauthorized charge by a service I have never signed up for, and they have no record of me.  Only Roku on an invoice page.  Bank will be canceling card for a second time if Sling doesn't do the right thing.  All over the web going back years, there is complaint after complaint.  It's a shame.
