Only the volume and power button works

Hi!

About a month ago, when we changed our WiFi internet from spectrum to att. The roku, all of a sudden started disconnecting. We would re-synced or re-connected it but, it stayed doing that everyday. Until about a few weeks ago, we got another tv and moved the roku upstairs. The roku doesnt disconnect anymore, but now only volume and power button work on the remote, nothing else. How can I fix it or do I need to buy a new roku?

  • I am having the same issue.  Only the power button is working.  I have had my Roku Ultra less than a week and have already put in fresh batteries.

      We have 4  X Roku Streaming Stick and each Remote exhibit very similar issues. First, Our main tv remote only has Power and Volume features working. All others have Power On Issues. When Roku TV is reset all the remote work as desired. I am frustrated with Roku Support since they claim there is no issue even though we are less that 15 feet from the TV and the wireless network is about 10 feet from the TV's. Worse is that the Remote APP on my Android phone works fine on the same network implying the network is fine and so is the wireless signal strength including no issues with streaming content. This posted message is to support all others that have similar issues and are being advised by ROKU support it is NOT their equipment when the reality is quite different. 

      Please also note these remotes have also been repaired as if they are the first initial install to each of the respective ROKU Streaming Stick. At that time each remote works fine with all feature controls. 

      In each case the remote battery are new and fresh install.

      So, we have Roku successfully streaming and controlled by Phone APP but no reliable remote features. Is there any help here?

      I have the same issue. Remote just stopped working except for power and volume buttons. I have tried all the steps to reset, but still does not work.

        Hi:

        I have the same issue.  What I noticed is that the remote was getting slow to respond when I wanted to change channels on the streaming video.  So, I followed the steps to unplug the streaming stick for 10 seconds, replugged it into my tv, changed out the batteries, pressed the pairing button (it continues to keep flashing green), and the pairing window never popped up (like the instructions said it would).  So, now, the only buttons that work on the remote are the power button and the volume button. 

        I thought this was a WIFI issue but my work laptop, cell phone and home laptop are all working fine.

  • I was getting an error 400 on my roku when I went to fix it only the power and the volume on my roku remote works now. Please help

      Can you please specify the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you using? Are you seeing anything on screen? Does the device have a light showing? Have you tried rebooting your device?

      With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

        My original posts illustrated all three Roku Remotes have issues. Lately we cannot even power the TV with one remote and others are unresponsive. Actually, I think the receiver Stick is recognizing the remote but for some reason the Stick is not implementing the command. It just freezes. When we reset and unpair and then set up the remote as a new pairing all is good but that lasts about 24 hrs then back to same no response. This occurs on all three remotes and sticks with the 3 TV we have. If we use the Mobile app all works well but we cannot power the TV On/Off with the app. So the wifi signal is good, the network is good only issue appears to be the Stick.
