Thanks for reporting this, keneasley!
Have you also tried the following steps?
- Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
- Restart your Roku device: Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.
- Reinstall the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Streaming Store and add the channel again.
Let us know if this works!

- When did you first notice this issue?
- Have there been any recent updates before this happened? Could you share the latest software version of the Roku device? (Check under Settings > System > About)
- What specific Roku device is affected?
We'll wait for your response!

I would try going on the app on your phone and making sure the captions are turned on. I read Netflix recently made a change to add regular captions in addition to SDH captions. The regular ones just so words, and not sounds and stuff going on. I had to go into the app on my phone to change it to the SDH ones. Maybe yours got totally turned off somehow. Just a thought hope this helps. You can probably do this on a computer too.

In addition to Kristin2,
You can also visit this support article for instructions on customizing the closed captioning on Netflix.
Thanks,

The problem is not that the subtitles do not work or that I did not turn them on.
The subtitles do work when I turn them on.
The problem is with the Roku feature that shows the captions when the replay button on the Roku remote is used. This feature no longer works.
The feature used to work as follow: Press the replay button and the video goes back 20 seconds, turns on the captions/subtitles and plays the video with subtitles. The subtitles only remain for 20 seconds and automatically turn off. That feature no longer works on Netflix. It does work when watching the Roku Channel.
