Discovery Plus App Live Streaming Channels Six Hours Behind

Just to confirm that after all this time, the problem is still the same. My FIX was to purchase a cheap Google (certified) TV Streamer "Dcolor GD2" which has no such problems and streams QUEST TV in 4K in real time via the Discovery+ app.

I think I've found the issue, it's with the Roku account. I factory reset my device & set it up with a new Roku account, the logged into discovery+ has normal and it works fine, it's no longer six hours behind. So the issue isn't with Discovery it's with Roku..

Status update: After a thorough review and investigation with the Engineering team, it seems like we were unable to replicate this on our end, as we do not see live streams in the Discovery+ app. 

If possible, can you share a video showing the exact behavior? That would help us identify on which specific platform you're streaming these live shows on Roku.

Neither Roku or Discovery on my part seem to be dealing with the issue. Ive now got Paramount+ gone down & just buffers. After an hr onto Roku chat I was told the problems with Paramount not them. Funny cos like most on this chat apps are working fine on other devices like mobiles. 

Im fed up of paying for services I cant watch

Thanks for your reply Eilidh which perfectly sums up the situation IMO. I contine to see basic, standard input from both the "support"  services which are not helpful, nor are they doing anything tangible to repair the problems. Ch4 & 5 are still broken too. As you say, the answer is a cheap Amazon Fire Stick or as I have done, Free to use TV's built in browser or if unavailable, connect a laptop/PC to a TV input and use that.

I started this thread three months ago, and as yet nothing has been done. It's a developer level issue with a simple fix regarding the time zone.

Has Roku actually contacted Discovery+ regarding this? Are the developers of the Discovery+ app aware of the issue?

I've fixed the issue myself, an Amazon Fire Stick. I purchased the 4k version; although I don't have a 4k television, the 4k version supports cloud gaming, something the Roku doesn't.

It cost me £27.99, and it walks all over the Roku from the user interface to the speed.

Finally, with reference to this thread, the Discovery+ app works without the time shift issue. It also loads in a fraction of the time.

Nothing has changed, still streaming six hours behind. Now Channel 4 & 5 have packed-up. No problems with the TV's inbuilt Browser though, everything working properly.

I am facing the exact same issue on my TCL Roku tv, I'm so glad I have found this thread has I thought I was going mad. I contacted Discovery + back in March but wasn't very helpful. Yes it is only the Roku devices affected. The last email I got from Discovery + just stated " We're actively working on a solution for your concern, and I'll send you an update as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding." So could take a while then..At least I know I'm not the only one.

It seems like the issue might be specific to the Roku version of the Discovery Plus app, possibly related to how it syncs live stream data. Since the EPG is correct but the stream is 6 hours off, it could be a server-side bug or a time zone handling glitch. Hopefully Discovery Plus pushes a fix soon, have you tried reaching out to their support with this info?

OMG, I thought it was just me having this problem. I contacted Discovery customer service, who keep asking me to do everything that been suggested on here. Said they'd pass on to there tech team, who then suggest the same thing. 10 weeks this as been going on, & no nearer a resolution.
