- Roku TV screen saver loses paused live TVLooks like a bug in the latest software update loaded earlier this month. It used to be that the Roku screen saver would not come on when live TV was paused. Now it does, and when the screen saver comes on you lose the paused content. This is a real annoyance. You can pause live TV for up to 90 minutes but the screen saver comes on well before that. We have two Roku TVs (WalMart "Onn" 32" sets) and it's the same problem on both. I checked settings and did not see a way to disable the screen saver or to even set the timeout to accommodate live TV pause. Is there no way to work around this problem? Or, do we just have to hope it's fixed in the next software update? (Whenever that might be.)12Views0likes1Comment
- Roku TV is stuck on the language selection screen after an updateAfter the firmware update today, my tv is essentially bricked. The ok, down and right selector buttons are no longer working. The physical tv joystick selection and pushbutton selector are no longer working. Resetting the tv during their diagnostic procedure clears the network settings. I am stuck on the language selection screen. There is no way to recover at this point. It's not the remote. It's not the hardware. The firmware update was bad. Roku is denying responsibility. Phillips tv says the firmware is created by roku. Roku damaged my property. I can't even use it as a terminal for other devices. I can't get past the setup. The tv is only 3 years old. So great marketing plan. Push out a firmware update and break a customer's device. Quite a scam. When or if the government ever reopens it will be getting reported to the ftc and probably the Oklahoma corporation commission. This is a crime on their part.230Views1like12Comments
- Roku device factory reset itself after an updateTwice now in the last two weeks after what I assume were device updates, I've woken up to find that my streaming stick has been reset. It needs to re-recognize the TV, then I have to sign in to my account again, then I need to re-sign into any of the pay services I use (Netflix, Amazon, etc.). Additionally, it blows away all my favorites, which is great. I've had the stick for a few months now - is this the future I have to look forward to? If so, someone please let me know now. Thanks.1.2KViews4likes32Comments
- Voice command on the Roku remote stopped working after the update. So this is on my ultra voice remote with the AB buttons. After the recent update I noticed it stopped working. It keeps telling me it can't hear me when I hold down the voice button. I tried resetting and pairing it with different rokus in the house and it's still giving me trouble. So far the remote with the stick that has voice works and I haven't tried the other ultra. I'll update when I see if that's having problems or not. Yes I followed all the instructions to reboot the Roku and repair the remote.16Views1like1Comment
- Software mismatch between two Roku devices; Apple TV tile disappearsI have two streaming stick 4K's. One is on software 15.0. The other is on 14.6.4 - but when I go into settings and check for an update, it says I'm up to date. Is this known behavior? Also the device with 15.0 has a problem with the Apple TV tile disappearing even though the app is installed, so Roku engineering may want to look into this!131Views0likes7Comments
- Software update rollback optionHow can I roll back to the original OS of our Roku TV? Each "update" that comes out makes the TV more and more frustrating to use and it is so unresponsive now. Very very very frustrating when All I want to do is go to the OTA Antenna stations but I have to sit and wait for all the other "features" to load, and then the controls lag making wrong selections increasingly common. I'm never going to buy a Roku TV again if this is what the experience is for all of them. Seems this is the case for all "smart" home products these days.127Views1like11Comments
- My Roku TV only flashes "Hisense Roku TV" on the screen. All of a sudden, while in the middle of watching a show, my Hisense Roku TV 55R6E now just flashes "Hisense Roku TV" for 1 second, then black screen for two seconds. Repeat. Unplugged the wall power for several hours. No change. Tried a factory reset (powered on, and hold Reset button for 25 seconds). No change. Tried a factory reset with the Remote. No change. Maybe it's in a power-up boot loop. I tried getting a firmware download, but Hisense says it's a wrong Serial number. That's BS. I sent a Contact Support request to Hisense five days ago... no reply yet. Any suggestions?26Views1like2Comments
- Washed out color all of a sudden on TCL RokuJust started today 7/16/25 where color was suddenly washed out. The TV is between 7 and 9 yrs old. I tried a factory reset and unplugging and plugging back in w/o effect681Views4likes47Comments
- Long Press Mute Function DisabledI have multiple Roku devices. The main unit I use is a Roku 4670X ULTRA. For over a year now I have been using this device every night. I use the YouTube app and access one of the 10 to 12 hour selections of relaxing/healing music. Once watching the video I have been able to long press (3 seconds) the mute button to get the TV display to turn off (go black) while keeping the audio working. A few daya ago this stopped working. I have spent multiple sessions on the phone with Roku support (under Support reference #: 13120646) but have made no progress. The last promise to call me back was apparently not true, no one called, so i was lied to by support. I have identified the issue on my own. I can see that the ULTRA was updated to software version 15.0.4 build 5531 on 10/8/2025, which is when this feature stopped working. I also have a Roku Express and a Roku Premiere + that have not been used for a while so I hooked up the Roku Premiere + to the involved TV and paired up the remote that I first experienced the issue with. The long press feature works fine with that device. I checked and found the software version on that device is 14.6.4 build 9915. I also checked the Roku Express with an even older version of software and the feature is working properly. CLEARLY this indicates a bug in the 15.0.4 build 5531 software. PLEASE get the development team to correct what has been broken by that software update.346Views1like15Comments
- TCL TV cannot update RokuOSI have a TCL TV model 65Q825 that has been failing to update RokuOS for a few weeks now. When I query the TV for updated software, it reports that it is using software version 15.0.4.5519 and is ready to update to a new version. I allow the update to proceed. The TV reboots, and it reports that it is still using software version 15.0.4.5519. This has been happening for a long enough period of time that I have seen three different RokuOS versions offered to me. My Roku wireless speakers and subwoofer have been updating OK. Not sure if that is relevant. No error code is ever displayed to me. I performed a factory reset on this TV and the problem persists. TCL and Roku technical support pointed the finger at each other. Any ideas I can try?16Views0likes0Comments
