Roku iPhone app stuck on loadscreen
I’ve been using the Roku mobile app as a remote from my iPhone. But now it won’t work, the mobile app itself just gets stuck on the load screen forever. I’ve deleted and reinstalled multiple times for varying lengths of time, and it still doesn’t work.Solved13KViews14likes71CommentsRoku Mobile Version 9.3.1 won't run on my iphone
Starting 2 days ago when my iphone automatically installed Roku Mobile Version 9.3.1 I can no longer use the Roku Mobile app. I click the icon and the app just hangs on the main loading screen, never getting beyond the purple loading screen I have an iphone XR, iOS 16.4.1. I've uninstalled the roku app, rebooted, and reinstalled. The problem came back with 15 minutes. The app is no longer usable and I'd love to let Roku support know that 9.3.1 is broken on my phone. Any ideas on how to install the old version?2.6KViews2likes4CommentsMobile App randomly crashes when private listening
First off I’m annoyed there’s no direct way to report bugs to Roku. I’m using the Roku app on my iPhone 14, running iOS 18, but this was a problem with iOS 17 as well. The app is up to date, version 11.3.0.16034441.52. I’m using it with a Roku SoundBar and an Express. when using it for private listening it randomly crashes in the background. Then all of a sudden I don’t hear shutting. I have to relaunch the app and engage private listening again. Sometimes it won’t switch to private listening and I have to force quit the app and launch it again. I’m not looking for trouble shooting. There’s nothing to trouble shoot. I’m just reporting a bug. I’m sitting two feet from my WiFi router so that isn’t the issue. Also this forum software is telling me my post title needs to be 25 characters or more, which it is.685Views1like1CommentAGAIN Roku app cannot find IP address of Roku Express
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: I thought I had found a solution to this problem by turning off the privacy settings on my iPhone WiFi settings. This stopped working pretty quickly. Then the app started working randomly again for a few days, without having to change any iOS settings! Unfortunately, the situation has now reverted to not being able to connect. I have confirmed that the app works with Roku’s at other houses. My internet provider says the issue is not theirs. Does Roku have a solution yet? My roommates and I have been using the Roku app as a remote for our Roku Express specifically because of the ability to play audio through headphones and not disturb each other. It was working for months, but in the past few weeks the app would randomly drop the connection then have to reconnect. Today, the app could not connect to the device at all. I have restarted the app and the device, checked the WiFi setting, and even factory reset the device. The phone and the device are linked to the same WiFi, the IP addresses are both 192.168.1.XX. No VPNs are involved. The connection on the Roku device says it is excellent. When I try to connect manually with the IP address, the app says there is no device found there. I am inputting the correct address, as I am copying it directly from the “About” section from my TV screen. Control by mobile apps on the device is set to default. The WiFi is Spectrum. We only have one network available, and we cannot even access the Access Point settings. The phones have local network access enabled for the app. We have tried with multiple phones, all iPhones running the latest iOS, so we believe it is a problem with our device or the app, not the phones. We have gone through every step given by Roku’s troubleshooting guide, and nothing has changed.Solved5.2KViews1like8CommentsCannot connect New IPhone 14 Plus to Roku devices
We currently have 4 Roku devices on our home network, all previously working with the Roku App on multiple IPhone 12s. We recently upgraded three phones to the IPhone 14. Two phones are working properly with the App and the Roku devices. One of our phones does not recognize any of our Roku devices using the Roku app. We have confirmed the phone and devices are on the same network (5g). We have uninstalled and reinstalled the Roku App. We have reinstalled the phone from back up. We have successfully installed a singular Roku device manually with the IP address but cannot install more than one at a time. We are looking for additional options to resolve this issue.7.5KViews1like59CommentsRoku App launches incorrectly. Roku App freezes.
I read similar problems but this is a bit different so I am posting a new thread. I am noticing two problems with the Roku App. First, often times when I initially launch the Roku App it will open to a plane Roku logo and freezes or to an error screen stating there was an issue with the connection and provides two options, to ‘use the remote’ or to ‘retry’ as well as the normal tabs at the bottom of the app screen for ‘home, remote, etc.’ None of these function, the app responds to nothing. So I can then close the app and relaunch it and it will begin to function. Second, the Roku App will often freeze completely if I navigate away from the application, forcing me to close and relaunch the App for it to function. These issues only recently began to occur beginning a few weeks ago and continue to persist. If it helps, I use the iPhone 16 Pro and a Roku Express 4k+ The ‘Associated Products’ list on this form is not working properly.610Views1like8CommentsUnable to load account option on Roku Mobile App
I have an issue with the Roku app on my iphone. The remote on it works well, the search button for movies works, BUT the account doesn't open up, it just stays at the loading time circle. I deleted the app, rebooted, added app back, signed in. Anyone else having this issue?663Views1like22Comments
