How to disable the Voice that narrates every move I make on my TV?

Last night a voice started narrating every move I make on my TV, how do I get it to stop? Example.. tells me what I'm watching, says loading & playing during commercials, resuming to what I'm watching after commercials etc!

No Sound on Roku TV no Matter What

I have had audio problems with my TV for a while. I honestly don’t use my TV a whole lot, and usually if I do, I use my computer connected to it. When the sound first started acting up, I could try the typical unplug it, switch the channels, and other typical fixes. Then I had to resort to using my computer audio. I’m trying to use the apps on the TV now and need the problem fixed. I have tried unplugging, doing the home button 5 times, up arrow, rewind, fast forward trick, changing the audio settings, etc. nothing is working. Any suggestions?

Roku does not connect to tv

I just unboxed my express 4k+ and followed the set up guidelines provided, however, my tv shows no signal. I have tried using different power outlets, resetting my roku, different HDMI ports and even different cords, and nothing seems to work. My Roku bar is blinking, which to my knowledge means it is not connected to the internet. I have made an account with Roku and cannot connect my device there either because there’s no internet connection to the device. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be super appreciated. I may just have to throw it away

Youtube app audio is skipping and choppy with Private Listening

I use the Roku remote app’s private listening feature to connect my headphones to my roku tv through bluetooth. Recently, the Youtube app audio will not play correctly when I am listening through my headphones. It makes it sound chopped up and sporadic. Here is what I’ve already done to try to fix this: • I turned off and on the private listening feature from my app • I closed the roku app completely and reopened it • I disconnected my headphones’ bluetooth to my phone • I turned the power off on my headphones and then back on and reconnected • I restarted my tv • I checked to see if my tv needed a software update. It is up to date • I tested the audio of different apps through my headphones. They all work perfectly. So far it is only the Youtube app that has this issue. • I checked to see if the Youtube app needed updating. It is the current version. • I uninstalled the Youtube app from my tv and reinstalled it. No change. • I played the youtube app audio through my tv instead of my headphones through private listening and it sounds fine. At first I assumed this was an issue with my headphones but they play everything except the Youtube app perfectly normally.

Which streaming devices support bluetooth headphones?

I am looking for a Roku streaming device that supports Bluetooth headphones. This article tells me that the 4800, 4801 and 4802 support Bluetooth headphones. https://support.roku.com/article/12210854415383 But, when I go to various retail sites, looking for the cheapest product, they sell the 4802R and the 4801RW and/or various 2023 models of the Roku Ultra and Roku Ultra LT. In the ads on those retail websites, they do not specify whether the 4802R, 4801RW, etc support Bluetooth headphones. Can someone supply an extensive list of devices that support Bluetooth headphones? Thanks, and I know that I can connect Bluetooth headphones through the Roku app.

Experience with TrueHD Atmos Audio Passthrough on Ultra 4802

I've seen a few posts on the topic of TrueHD Atmos audio passthrough with the Ultra 4802 (2022). From these posts I've surmised that the Ultra is not able to passthrough that format. In my case I'm streaming from Plex so Plex transcodes the TrueHD 7.1 audio track to EAC3, and the Roku converts it back to Atmos before sending it to the soundbar. There does not appear to be any way to stop Plex from doing this transcoding, and from other forums that also appears to be the case on other server platforms (Emby, JellyFin). I thought it would be helpful to share my experience with the relevant settings on both Plex and the Roku, plus I still have a question about what is happening to the original TrueHD Atmos stream. Source file 1080p (HEVC Main 10) (current TV can only handle 1080p) TrueHD 7.1 Atmos Plex App on Roku Video Local Quality: Original Remote Quality: Original Direct Play: Auto Allow Direct Stream: On Maximum H.264 Level: Auto Audio Allow DTS-HD: On [Haven't tested this] Roku Playback Settings Playback Options Quality: Original (5.9 Mbps 1080p) Direct Play: Auto Allow Direct Stream: On Streams [assume this is what Plex is detecting in the source] Audio: TrueHD Atmos 7.1 Video: 1080p (HEVC Main 10) Stream Info [what Plex is sending to the Roku] Playback: Partial Transcode (throttled) [not sure what this means] Format: mkv Video: 1080p (HEVC Main 10) * copy [assume that "copy" means direct play] Audio: EAC3 7.1 * convert [audio track transcoded by the Plex server] Roku Audio Digital output format: Auto [see note below] Preferred streaming format: Auto Plex Media Server Automatically adjust quality: On Transcode quality: Recommended Further note: when the Digital Audio Format on the Roku is set to Passthrough, the soundbar reports that it is playing Dolby Digital Plus. When set to Auto, the soundbar reports Dolby Atmos. So I'm thinking that Plex is actually downmixing the audio from TrueHD Atmos to DD+ 7.1, and the Roku is converting it back to Dolby Atmos. Am I right about this? Am I getting "true" Atmos playback with this setup? Should I be looking for sources that are "DD+ 5.1 Atmos" or "DD+ 7.1 Atmos" instead of TrueHD Atmos?

trying to totally turn OFF Roku screensaver

I have a Roku "4200X - Roku 3". All works great. I need to be able to record a Xfinity live channel from it for 6+ straight hrs. Basically, I use the Xfinity stream app to tune in the channel, then have the Roku HDMI output connected to a laptop. Special software then records the channel it is on. All works good. However, after a certain amount of time, the Roku screensaver kicks in (image below). Therefore, disrupting my recording. I think i can sort of hit a button on the remote occasionally, but not sure how much time is allowed. Is there ANY way of TOTALLY turning off the screensaver so it doesn't disrupt my recording? Having to keep hitting a button is annoying. I have looked in some settings, but not finding anything. Hoping there is a way. If so, how? screen that kicks in after a certain amount of time and disrupts my recording

    Descriptive audio won’t turn off

I am watching the Roku Channel app and the descriptive audio is playing on some shows but not others. I have checked all settings and audio reader is disabled. It’s driving me crazy!

Simultaneous Headphone and Speaker Support for Hearing Impaired

I own the Roku Ultra and I'm very surprised and disappointed that their flagship Roku steamer will not allow simultaneous sound (wireless headphones and speakers to play at same time). My wife has a condition that renders her near deaf. I bought Bluetooth headphones so the entire family can watch programing together. It turns out that when headphones are used no sound to speakers and visa versa. One would think that since this is a common problem for hearing impaired and their families, that a Roku software update or setting selection would allow both. This could be done via update. Or add an optical out on the device itself. Roku you can do better.
