Roku ultra keeps crashing and restarting

My Roku ultra keeps crashing and restarting after last Saturdays update. Anyone knows how to fix it? I’ve tried: - turn power on off - factory reset - turn off power saving - reconnect to wifi nothing fixes this. If it keeps happening, I might just return it and use something else. So frustrating.

Onn Roku tv. Software won’t update.

Our tv is currently not allowing is to use certain streaming platforms (prime & disney+) as it says we have an update to download. Great. Except the update will not go past 2% without throwing error 008. Now, before you go saying to download the update on a usb, done that and it did not work as well 😂 we have reset the tv, restarted our router, power cycled the tv, checked the file on the usb, cleared the cache, and every other suggestion we could find. The usb update takes us to the screen where it asks for the 6 digit pin. There it climbs to 2% and then quits like the other one. Our wifi is amazing on our other roku tv’s so I don’t think that’s the problem. We have only had it for 8 months now and bought brand new. Somebody help lol

[OS 13] Automatic exit Guest Mode, bad firmware update.

We have three Rokus in our Airbnb. All three have had their Guest Modes stop working. Now when the device is turned on, the Welcome screen is no longer displayed. Instead, the TV opens to a guest mode "menu" with pretty much nothing in it. (https://ibb.co/9gN3W0X) When you select the "Guest Options" menu item, you see that "You'll be automatically signed out: Dec 31 at 7:00 pm". (https://ibb.co/NjjDKZj) That's obviously not right, so I selected "Sign out and clear info" but then receive a message saying "Oops... There was a problem connecting to the server. Please try again later." (https://ibb.co/9gM4CWF) I have toggled Guest Mode on and off and restarted the Rokus but the problem persists. I've also factory reset all three devices. The problem subsided for a day or so and is now back again. I'm guessing the devices received a firmware update towards the end of August that killed Guest Mode since they all started the same behavior around that timeframe. Is anyone else seeing these problems?

Smart View won't connect to my Hisense 32" TV

Smart View will not mirror my Android phone on my Hisense 32" TV. The choice is there but when I choose the TV to says ot's connecting but never does. Eventually it says to turn the TV off and back on and that doesn't fix the issue either.

Another added Ads on home screen

Last night I started up one of my many Roku sticks and saw an "update" message flash on the screen. It seems my stick has been updated to your new OS 13 (unfortunately). Now I see an ad on the bottom left of the home screen for the slutty, morally bankrupt, self-promoting Kardashians program on Hulu. I never says ads on the bottom left before OS 13. I have youngsters that we are trying to teach good values and you put that trash ad on the Roku home screen! And with just a push of a button it plays! What is wrong with you, Roku? Have you no decency or morals? Are you so greedy with ad revenue that you will post any trash on your home screen? What's next? Soft porn, hard porn, or snuff films? If you must cram ads down our throats on the home screen then why can't you put family oriented, child safe, non trash ads on the home screen? I respect the rights of anyone who loves the Kardashians and wants to watch them. But for those of us who find them and programs like that disgusting we don't want to have them crammed down our throats on the home screen. The Roku home screen should be neutral containing only family, child safe content. Of course you give us customers no way to turn off these ads or at minimum block the currently displayed ad if a household doesn't allow that type of trash to be viewed by young children. And don't say to go settings privacy and turn on the option to let advertisers spy on you so you can select the type of ads you don't want displayed. I tried that and the trash Kardashians ad still display on the bottom left. Roku - get some common decency and stop pushing trash on your home screen or give us to the option to block it. If and when we want to watch such trash we can start up an app and select it from the app itself. I'm assuming this post will deleted quickly by Roku but at least I've tried.

TV no longer works after Roku's Software Update

I have a perfectly good 9 year old TV with two HDMI inputs. My DVD player works with it and my laptop works with it. Since the Roku update, the Roku no longer works with my TV. At first I thought it was the Roku box. I bought a new Roku box. It worked fine until we got to the "checking for updates" part of the installation. After the update the new Roku no longer worked (TV says invalid signal). Roku tells me I need to contact the TV manufacturer for an update for the TV, so I do that. The manufacturer tells me there are no updates available and there will be no updates in the future. SO ROKU KILLED MY TV. A perfectly good TV with HDMI inputs will no longer work on any Roku box. I am SO TIRED of all this technology that DOESN'T WORK. This problem exists on 3 different Roku model boxes that I have. I returned the last one noting it was defective, before I realized it was a "death blow" update that Roku sent to my unit! How can they NOT realize that many people keep TV's for more than a few years!!!

OS 14.1 Update for Roku TV - Recovery Mode Issue

Hey everyone, We are aware of an issue where some Roku devices are getting stuck in recovery mode. We believe the OS 14.1 update has addressed this issue, but it seems that some TVs aren't updating automatically. If your TV hasn't updated yet, please send me a private message (PM) with your Device ID, and we can assist in pushing the update through. For more information, please refer to this Community thread. TCL Roku TV Stuck on Update

My TCL Roku TV attempted to update but got stuck at 100% for hours. After waiting, I finally unplugged it, and when it restarted, it tried checking for updates again—only to stall at 100% once more. The next time it restarted, I canceled the update to try and use the TV with its current software/firmware. However, instead of working, the screen stayed blank with a purple background, showing only “TCL | Roku” in the upper left corner—essentially bricking the device. I then tried to enter Recovery Mode and update via USB. However, I’m stuck at Step 1 of the USB Updater because it keeps saying: “Unrecognized model. You must enter a valid Roku model number to continue.” I’m entering exactly what the screen displays, but it’s not being recognized. I’ve attached a photo of what I’m seeing. Can anyone help me get past this? At this point, even a zipped file of the firmware would be a huge help. Thanks in advance!
