Are You Still Watching? - How can I stream longer than 4 hours on Roku TV?

I bought a Roku TV. However, we sleep with the tv on. The Roku and all apps beg the question “Are you still watching?” after 4 hours. When it shuts off.. I wake up. How do I disable this feature? Youtube seems to be the only app that doesn’t do this. I’m wanting to stream ATTNow, Prime, or Netflix. Please help.

    Roku device audio sync issues

I have multiple Roku device; TVs, "Ultimate" STB streamers, sticks - you name it; going back to composite A/V output. I now have and use ONLY High Def / 4K devices and TVs from Roku now. Originally, I had "purple screen - HDCP erros" between the Roku Ultra and an expensive LG OLED TV that required disconnecting HDMI cables, swapping them, the ports I used, and powering off equipment - until I gave up and called for a replacement "Ultra" STB. Roku relectantly replaced it - only to have the same problems (which I suspect they know about). I eventualy gave up on the Ultra insisting that I get my exercise every night doing this nonsense and decided that a 4K Streaming Stick would eliminate the need for multiple HDMI cables that Roku Support suggested I change out. The stick solved the HDCP issues; however the Audio Sync issues became the concern - and has been / still is present on EACH and EVERY Roku streamer / device / TV. Roku Support plays the same response to everyone: "What is the model, serial number, blah, blah, blah.." I haven't seen anyone say their problem has been fixed - instead, they just stop posting and complaining because they've come to realize that Roku doesnt have a permanent, workable fix! News flash - these same problems exist for Chromcast and Fire TV too. The "button push combination" on the remote is the best you can hope for as far as a fix is concerned; just be prepared to do it every night at least once every night. The procedure is below: Press the Home button on your Roku remote. Wait a few seconds, then press the following buttons in the exact order shown below, without pausing between buttons. 1 Press the Home button 5 times 2 Press the Up button 1 time 3 Press the Rewind button 2 times 4 Press the Fast Forward button 2 times Your Roku will be unresponsive and reboot. Audio sync should be better / fixed. Roku Support strings evetyone along by suggesting there is a fix - but they need 'more information" (a.k.a. time) to have their engineers look at YOUR problem (it is unique - no one else is having your problem!). They do this until the warranty return window for the streamer / device / TV has closed. Roku has been doing this for YEARS and it has likely become part of its mission statement. Its frustrating but it is what it is.

No Bluetooth headphone option for TCL Roku TV.

I have the same problem with my Roku TV. There’s an icon showing a group of audio outputs including headphones, but in the menu there is no headphone option, even though there IS a wireless speaker option, which means to me that it is bluetooth capable.

YouTube App Unusable After Update on Roku TV

After the update on 3/18/23 I haven’t been able to use my YouTube app on my Roku TV at all. I’ve been on support chat multiple times to fix the issue, but I keep getting the “no memory available” message even though the YouTube app has been my only app for about 5 years now - I don’t use the tv for anything else. I was told to factory reset and now I can’t even redownload the app, which for me means my tv is now unusable. Does anyone know if it’s possible to uninstall the update? I’ve tried all the online suggestions and nothing is working.

Why do I have to restart my TV every time I use it for it to connect to my wifi?

Mine started doing the same thing. It is only the Onn Roku TVs. The others stay connected with no issues.

Ever since the last update, private listening stopped working.

I have used private listening on my roku devices (Roku Express 4K 3940RW, and Hisense TV G211X) just fine for a long time now. I have never once had an issue with it, and love it so much. After the last app update, it no longer works at all. There is either no audio, or the audio keeps playing from the TV, and it keeps going from saying private listening on, then turning it off again. Here are the things I have tried: I made sure my volume was up Turned devices on and off again, and unplugged and plugged them Turn my phone (android) on and off again Cleared app cache Cleared the app data Force closed and re opened the app Tried different wired headphones Tried switching from wired to blutooth headphones Checked for updates on the rokus Checked if my phone was missing any permissions Made sure to turn on nearby share, location, and blutooth Double checked my app was up to date. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app Looked up any help topics that might be relevant I still can't get it to work. Does anyone have any other suggestions? As far as I can tell, the last update just broke the feature. I miss watching TV while my wife is asleep.

TCL Roku TV Never Restarts After Software Update

I got a new TCL Roku 65R655 (J102X) and I plugged it in to use it in all its greatness. It opened the initial setup screen , I went through it, and connected to my internet via ethernet. It automatically checked for updates and downloads it super fast. It displays a message saying it will automatically restart after installing the update. Here's where things go wrong. Once it downloads the update and restarts, the TV never turns back on again. I disconnected the power after a while, waited 15 minutes and then plugged it back in. The TV turns on to the initial setup again. I go through it again. It turns off to restart again. It never turns back on. I have done this 6 times and it's always the same. I have searched far and wide for fixes and tried the following: Disconnect power for a 24 hours and retry setup - no luck. I skipped the internet connection setup, did a factory reset, and tried setup again - no luck. I pressed the reset button behind the TV and tried setup again - no luck. I downloaded the software update to a USB and went through all the steps on https://tvupdate.roku.com - no luck. I reached out to TCL support and they said to enable Fast TV start, drain excess power, and try the setup again - no luck. The TV restarts okay when I use the reset button, and when I do it manually through settings. This leads me to believe that this might be cause by the new software it installs but I may be wrong. In case this is helpful, the fresh-out-of-the-box software version is: 10.5.0 build 3168-DK Right now I am using it as a "dumb" TV, and my worst-case workaround is to use a Chromestick for the smart features since the HDMI ports seem to work okay. This is a new TV but more importantly, this is my first TV and I have been looking forward to it for a long time so any pointers, and suggestions to fix this will be great. Thanks!

Roku Onn TV not entering power saving mode while Netflix app is open

My Roku Onn TV is not entering power saving mode while Netflix app is open. It opens Netflix poster screen but the TV doesn't auto power off. This is causing high energy consumption at my home during peak hours. Is there a solution to this? If not, can this be taken as a bug request?

Blurry Roku TV Wallpaper Cannot Be Changed

What is the meaning of this? Look, I understand that, as a company, you need to make money in order to succeed, much less stay afloat. I'm not happy that I'm getting advertisements for Tubi and other things in the bottom-left corner now (not shown), and I've never been thrilled about the advertisements over on the right edge of the screen (also not shown). However, I fail to see how erasing my Roku-provided wallpaper and turning it into a completely indecipherable mess of blurs could possibly be beneficial in an way, shape, or form. I mean, if the idea was to get me to come back here to the forum and complain about it, then sure. Job done, I guess. But how is this making you money? I've tried resetting my theme and wallpaper to their defaults. It didn't work. I also tried changing the wallpaper, re-enabling Seasonal and Sponsored Wallpaper, and turning off and on Wallpaper Animations. Nothing at all changed a thing. So, what's the deal? Bad firmware update? Corporate joke? What is the meaning behind this blurry image, and what's supposed to be there? Seriously, I wouldn't even be so upset and confused if there were an actual image there.
