Cannot connect New IPhone 14 Plus to Roku devices
We currently have 4 Roku devices on our home network, all previously working with the Roku App on multiple IPhone 12s. We recently upgraded three phones to the IPhone 14. Two phones are working properly with the App and the Roku devices. One of our phones does not recognize any of our Roku devices using the Roku app. We have confirmed the phone and devices are on the same network (5g). We have uninstalled and reinstalled the Roku App. We have reinstalled the phone from back up. We have successfully installed a singular Roku device manually with the IP address but cannot install more than one at a time. We are looking for additional options to resolve this issue.7.7KViews1like59CommentsProblems connecting the Roku device/tv to a mobile app.
I can’t connect to any app anymore. I have two devices. One is a Roku TV and another is a Roku portable usb device. I was able to connect the Roku app on both devices. Also a “mirror app” that I use to watch movies from my phone. Suddenly I am not able able to connect to any of these anymore. It doesn’t find any Roku devices on same network. I had to reconnect my wireless one day (I don’t know why it got disconnected, but after this happened, It is like they are not on same network anymore, but they are) anyone have an idea what can it be? I am able to AirPlay, but the apps doesn’t find any Roku devices. I tried to connect manually but that also doesn’t work. I don’t know what it is since nothing has changed aside reconnecting the wireless on both tvs. Going to reinforce they ARE on same wireless account. I did reset everything already. That’s not the problem.Solved5.7KViews0likes14CommentsAGAIN Roku app cannot find IP address of Roku Express
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: I thought I had found a solution to this problem by turning off the privacy settings on my iPhone WiFi settings. This stopped working pretty quickly. Then the app started working randomly again for a few days, without having to change any iOS settings! Unfortunately, the situation has now reverted to not being able to connect. I have confirmed that the app works with Roku’s at other houses. My internet provider says the issue is not theirs. Does Roku have a solution yet? My roommates and I have been using the Roku app as a remote for our Roku Express specifically because of the ability to play audio through headphones and not disturb each other. It was working for months, but in the past few weeks the app would randomly drop the connection then have to reconnect. Today, the app could not connect to the device at all. I have restarted the app and the device, checked the WiFi setting, and even factory reset the device. The phone and the device are linked to the same WiFi, the IP addresses are both 192.168.1.XX. No VPNs are involved. The connection on the Roku device says it is excellent. When I try to connect manually with the IP address, the app says there is no device found there. I am inputting the correct address, as I am copying it directly from the “About” section from my TV screen. Control by mobile apps on the device is set to default. The WiFi is Spectrum. We only have one network available, and we cannot even access the Access Point settings. The phones have local network access enabled for the app. We have tried with multiple phones, all iPhones running the latest iOS, so we believe it is a problem with our device or the app, not the phones. We have gone through every step given by Roku’s troubleshooting guide, and nothing has changed.Solved5.4KViews1like8CommentsRoku app just doesn't work
This problem started earlier this week. On my Roku app when using private listening the audio sounds choppy and randomly cuts out and the app won't connect to my devices that are on the same network unless I restart my phone and immediately open the Roku app. The TV works fine, the headphones work fine, my phone works fine, this problem is the app. And while using the YouTube app, ads will stop and not play and it's only on the YouTube app the audio issues happen2.3KViews0likes5CommentsNo consistency with Roku app on iOS mobile device and when it will find devices on network
Roku app version: 9.10.0.9514639.43 iOS version: iOS 17.3 Edited to add: This issue started a few months ago and aligns to right around the time we changed the modem and router in our house to support WiFi 6. I'm not sure if that's related or not. We have 3 Roku devices in our house and this happens regardless of the device. Some days the mobile app will recognize the devices and some days it won't. Sometimes turning WiFi off on my phone and then turning it back on will make the devices available but sometimes it doesn't. I've also tried turning off the Private WiFi option on my phone and that worked once but didn't work again. I have gone through the "How to connect your phone to a Roku streaming device with the Roku mobile app" document/page including the troubleshooting steps and tried things listed in the other threads related to this issue such as: 1) Trying to manually pair by the IP address of the Roku device: when I tried that it gives me an error saying that the IP address doesn't match a device even though it matches what's on the Roku Network screen, and 2) Unplugging the Roku device and plugging it back in: didn't make a difference. 3) Deleting the devices from the Roku app and re-adding them: didn't make a difference. 4) Deleting the Roku app and re-installing: didn't make a difference. I love Roku. I have owned many Roku devices for years without issue. However, this issue is really frustrating for me and any help would be greatly appreciated. Screenshot of view from my mobile app this morning is attached in case it's useful in any way. I cannot get my "Living room" device to connect this morning although it and the "Office" device were both connected to the app yesterday at different points. I tried running through all the troubleshooting things above this morning and nothing is making a difference.1.7KViews0likes1CommentNo remote/ disconnected for unknown reason?
I have 2 Roku devices. One in my bedroom, one in the living room. I used my bedroom roku this morning and when I came back from work, it stopped working. My app lists it under ‘previously used devices.’ I’ve done what I’ve read in similar questions. I’ve unplugged it. I’ve checked the wifi( I know this is fine because my Roku in the living room is discoverable and still working.) I can’t hold the reset button on the device because I lost the physical remote and have been using my remote. is there anything else I can try? Thank you!! I have an iPhone 13 on iOS 17.7 and a Roku Express 4K+ connected to my Samsung TV. My Roku app somehow disconnected from the device and simply refuses to reconnect over WiFi or via IP address. It tells me when I try that method that “A Roku device was not found at this IP address.” This issue happened suddenly for me a few months ago, for the first time in over 2 years of owning the Roku device, but I since lost the solution I had found for it at the time (I recall it being in my phone settings, where I turned a setting I had never heard of off and on again). Nothing regarding my internet service has changed since then. I can confirm that the Roku device and my iPhone are on the same network; I have the Local Network setting enabled in my iPhone settings and the Control by mobile apps setting in the Roku set to Default; I have restarted both the Roku device (also unplugged it and plugged back in) and my phone; I have reinstalled the app on my phone; and all my software is up to date. NOTHING is working to fix this. It is most certainly not an issue with my router. I am at a loss for why this is happening and need creative solutions, as none of the responses to similar posts in this forum have been helpful. I can provide serial numbers etc. if necessary. It is upsetting how common a problem this seems to be for Roku users, and I hope it gets resolved if its cause is internal.1.2KViews0likes2CommentsRoku app on iOS phone constantly dropping connection to tv
