Won’t accept EU hotel password but multiple devices connected without issue - no landing page needed

Jump to solution

I’m in Budapest and my roku 4K stick will not accept the hotel password.  Multiple mobile devices have already connected without issue.  None of them routed to a landing page with room number and/ or last name.  Also, roku doesn’t kick into hotel/dorm mode

Welcome, and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community, @juandela!

We highly appreciate you reaching out regarding this matter. Rest assured that we will find you the best resolution possible.

Connecting to a public network often requires signing in through a web browser but with Hotel and Dorm connect, you can authenticate the connection for your Roku streaming device from your computer or smartphone. Follow the steps provided below to help you:

Initiate the Connection

  • Press Home and select Settings
  • Select Network > Set up connection > Wireless
  • Choose the wireless network for the hotel from the list of available networks. If you do not see the network, select Scan again to see all networks
  • After your Roku device connects to the network, select I am at a hotel or college dorm.

Authenticate the connection

After the connection has been successfully enabled, the remaining steps will appear on the television screen. Kindly complete those steps on your computer or smartphone. After the connection is authenticated, your Roku device will return to the Network menu. The Network name should match the network for the hotel, and the Status should say Connected.

Let us know how it goes, and we'll go from there. We'll be looking forward to your update. Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Carly

Thanks for the update, @juandela!

If yes, we recommend you to restart it. Simply unplug it, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. This should help you see the options you are looking for. In case the issue persists, we would suggest you connect your device to an alternative network, like a mobile hotspot.

Or let us know how things turn out.

Thanks,

Rey
