I've had the same setup in my house for at least a year. Yesterday, my roku suddenly showed no internet connection. Tried to setup internet again, but it doesn't display my router. I have restarted router, modem, and roku multiple times. Reset connection, factory reset router, and finally factory reset roku and still nothing. Every other device I have is still functioning normally and displaying the correct router information. Again, nothing has changed within my home setup for at least a year. I have spectrum internet, SN is S012304LD6HA.
Does it display other Wi-Fi networks? It's quite possible that your router received an update that caused it to turn off the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi by default. (Model numbers are better but I believe every Roku product labeled "Express+" was 2.4GHz only.)
Model number is 3931X. Yes, it does display other networks. Before I reset my device, it said last check for updates was 8/23/23, last actual update was some time in May, can't remember exact date.
Yes, the 3931 is a 2.4GHz b/g/n-only device.
Does "device" refer to router? Or Roku?
Does the router say it is broadcasting 2.4GHz? Also, it’s good to make sure all modes are allowed: b/g/n. Rokus don’t seem to play well with some routers if only g/n modes are allowed. Some people have had luck with a simple reboot of the router, but if you’re already in there, you might as well check if 2.4GHz is enabled before the reboot.
"Device" referred to Roku. Had to contact ISP to confirm router was broadcasting 2.4. Tried moving Roku into the same room as router just in case. Still seeing same result.
Hi @stephanie_kay88,
Thanks for keeping us posted!
Since your Roku player is unable to detect your router, we will be more than delighted to help. How are you trying to connect to your network? Is it via a wired or wireless connection? Do you have cellular data, so we can try connecting your device to your hotspot?
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,
John
Wireless connection, don't have a hotspot.
