Re: Roku Express 4k+ Keeps Losing Internet Connection

As I said, the internet and the router is NOT the issue. The router is located approximately 6 feet from the device. The connection says "Excellent" when it is connected. You seem to be misunderstanding the issue I am having, please re-read my original post. The device disconnects every time I turn off my TV. When I turn my TV back on, I have to restart the device and reconnect. I am trying to avoid doing that every single time.

Try disabling the Auto Power Savings feature and see if that helps.

Settings/System/Power/Auto-Power Savings/20-min inactivity

Re: Roku Express 4k+ Keeps Losing Internet Connection

@mcnuggets75

There are some increased reports of this occuring since the last OS update (14) for some users.

I have the 3941 connected to an Emerson with OS 14 and not having this issue, so not universal issue.

If you are currently powering the 3941 from the TV USB port, you can try using a 5volt, 1 amp (cell phone charging adapter) at the wall outlet.

Can also try using the 1-touch CEC play feature. (pressing any button on Roku remote, other than power and volume keys) will simultaneously turn TV on, wake the Roku device, and switch to appropriate HDMI port. Will just have to enable CEC from within your TV's setting first (using the TV remote, not Roku remote), and then using the Roku remote go to Settings/System/Control other Devices/1-touch play.

Final thing to try is to disable pings between router and device. Using Roku remote, press Home at least 5x, then FF. Play, Rew, Play, FF.   Select System Operations Menu.  Then Network Menu.  Then Disable Network Pings.  To revert back, just enter menu again and select Enable Network Pings.

Sometimes too many ping requests will cause an issue between a client and router.
