Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
There’s no question the IR remote will work just fine. And as I mentioned, they are really cheap. I’ve seen them as low as $5. But that is assuming the Roku itself isn’t broken, but I wouldn’t expect it to be.

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
Depending on where you live, you should be able to get the local channels, including the local Fox station, over the air, with an antenna.

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
Since your previous thread talked about a move, I have to ask: Does the current place have Wi-Fi?
If not, that antenna @JWS9518 mentioned may be the simple and cheap choice.

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
I do have WiFi and I have access to the local FOX station. But what I want is to have access to all of the shows on FOX, like Gutfeld, etc. So that is my focus and not just access to my local FOX station. But anyone who can give me other ideas of how I might get access to ALL of Fox programming in the least expensive way I will greatly appreciate!! I really appreciate ALL OF YOUR feedback!!!

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
"Gutfeld" seems to be a "Fox News" thing which is a separate channel from "Fox".
Here's a helpful site for finding packages which contain "cable channels":
There is also "Fox News" and "Fox Nation" in the Roku channel store.

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
You could subscribe to Fox news, but that is almost as pricey as finding a provider that includes it. You could check Hulu, Fubu, DirectTV or others and see if they have package that suits what you are looking for.

Hi @WhiteBear78
Greetings from the Roku Community!
Thanks for bringing up your issue about the local Fox station. To help us figure this out, could you share the following information:
- Device ID and OS version of your Roku device?

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
The device I’m using is a Vizio internet ready TV. The Roku l have no idea about because I haven’t used it for about 5 years. I can’t get any functionality with it and that’s the problem. I CAN get access to local FOX stations through various apps so that is not the problem either.

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
I don’t know who said something about Sling but I had not known about it before. Now that I have looked at it and all of the channels I have access to with it, I probably will just forget about trying to get the FOX channel that would allow me to watch Gutfeld and the other programs I want to watch. I think FOX just has it so that we have to pay through our providers to get access to it. It sucks but that seems to be the case! But a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who tried to help!! The Roku Community is absolutely one of the VERY BEST groups of people who really try to help people and who should get some kind of an award for their service!! I have told people about my experience with you guys and I hope that the word gets around about how great you all are!! It gives me real hope about people and for the future of humanity and this world!!! Unfortunately for you guys…I will probably be BAAAACK!!!

Re: “Not connected” message though Roku shows onscreen
You can download the Roku app on your phone and it will give you several options. You can watch TV there but mainly you'll want it for the remote. It works on any Roku device. You can control all your Roku devices with just your phone😁
