Does ROKU use Just Answer Dot Com to resolve support connectivity problems.
I was working with ROKU Chat on a connectivity issue, and it sent a me to a "tech" where I was charged $1 refundable and had to fill in my debit card info. Within a minute later I get an alert from my back fraud security for a $55 charge to my Debit Card for Just Answers Dot Com.
I did not ask to go there.
How can this happen?
Fortunately, my bank security flagged it and refused payment. Is this a scam?
No! That was a scam. Roku does NOT use any 3rd party for customer service, and they NEVER charge for any support provided. I suspect the "chat" you connected to wasn't really Roku.
That is a scam. Always verify with customer service via the known Roku website or phone number before providing any information.
