In case you did not know it, Samsung is going to offer 7 years of hardware updates and google is going to offer 7 years of android updates too. starting with the 24 phones. As, far as I know Apple is only offering 4 years of ios updates and when ever apple hardware.

I think the OP thought it was mid-range because it is the middle model. The series is more like a car with 3 trim levels.

The 7 year Google update is for their Pixel phones. I just bought a new Pixel 8 recently, when it was on holiday sale.

I got my samsung s24+ last Thursday. I am waiting for Verizon to release a wireless 7 router. If xfinity has already released a wireless 7 router in some areas, then Verizon can't be too far behind. Wifi 7 brings the promise of full-duplex Wi-Fi with multi-link operation. As, far as my laptop is concerned, I might just upgrade my Wifi card.

Buy netgear BE19000 wifi7 router and CM-2000 cable modem. They are much better than the cheap equipment you get from the cable companies or other internet  providers.  I get much higher download/upload speeds with those versus the cheap units I got from my internet provider.

It depends. The newer Comcast gateways are actually pretty decent. The XB7 and XB8 are almost required to get the new 100MBit+ upload speeds (very few 3rd party modems are certified so far.)

I've stuck with the Comcast modems for one reason: it's cheaper to rent their modem than to pay for unlimited data. In my case, it's $5 per month cheaper, so $60 per year. And if they release a newer, better modem, I can just swap it out.

As far as their WiFi goes, I don't use it. My modem is in Bridge mode and I have my own router. The Comcast modem would never accept any port forwarding settings I wanted, plus I didn't like Comcast locking me out of some of the settings, such as channel selection.

My netgear gives me a solid 450mb download running Spectrums "supposedly" 1gb plan.  I will be switching over to a 2bg fiber connection in a couple months so will let you know how that goes
