My internet is out so router not working. Purchased hot spot with Verizon 2.4 ghz. Using Android via Samsung S23. Connected to my laptop fine. Can't get a Roku connection. Wireless connects but keep getting no internet. Have already rebooted tv, roku device and my phone and nothing is working. Can someone help me figure out how to make this work?
Thanks

What equipment are we dealing with?
What is the model number of the Roku device? (Settings/System/About)
When you say you purchased Verizon hotspot, is this a hotspot device, or did you purchase data plan for your phone? (assuming phone since you mentioned rebooting it, but just making sure.)

On my previous Android using Verizon, I was able to toggle between ipv4 and ipv6 under the Hotspot settings. If present on your Android (and using phone as the hotspot) try using just ipv4. Then restart the phone and the Roku device again.
Most Roku devices support the ipv6 protocol, but not all. (and verizon ipv6 default setting may need to be changed to ipv4/ipv6 in order to work properly with Roku devices).
IPv6 support for Roku streaming devices
Dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 addressing is available on some Roku streaming devices. Refer to the list below for streaming devices that support this feature. If your device is not on the list, then it only supports an IPv4 address.
Dual-stack capable streaming devices: 3800X, 3822R, 3900X, 3901PH, 3910X, 3920X, 3921X, 3930X, 3931X, 3932X, 3940X, 3941X, 3941X2, 3950X, 3951X, 3960X, 3960X, 3960X2, 4662X, 4670X, 4700X, 4701X, 4800X, 4802X, 4850X, 7000X, 8000X, 9100X, 9101X, 9102X, 9104X, A000X, C000X, D000X, E000X, G000X, H000X, J000X, K000X

Another workaround since your laptop is connecting to the hotspot, is to connect the laptop to the hotspot, and then connect the Roku to your laptop connection. (share the hotspot/wifi). If you are a Windows 10/11 user, here are some instructions.

If using Linux, post back with distro as the terminal commands differ between them.
