Have turned modem off and on. Strong internet signal. Roku not picking up the wireless connection. Every thing else works with the internet. using correct password etc.
Hi @DN123,
Thanks for the first post to the Roku Community!
We understand that you are having trouble establishing a network connection to your Roku device. We'd like to know more about this, but we need more details.
With more detailed information, we'll be able to assist you further.
All the best,
Chel
I have the same issue. My Roku Express was working fine until yesterday. However, today Roku said "not connected." Tried the set up network option and it showed the WiFi to be very strong. I used the same password I have used until yesterday, but it came up with the error code 014.40, which means incorrect password. I tried restarting Roku a few times to no avail. Nothing wrong with the modem because my TV and all other devices connected to it through WiFi are working fine.
How to resolve this issue?
I just found out that my Roku Premier connected to a different TV is also having the same issue. It looks like a broad issue with Roku, not the home network.
Please provide a resolution.
Thanks
The 014.40 error is often caused by having special characters in your Wi-Fi password. If you have any in your password, try changing it to one with only letters and numbers.
Thank you for your reply. However, both my Roku devices worked without this issue for past few years. They just disconnected only yesterday for some mysterious reasons! 😕
Hi @siva27,
Thank you for keeping us informed!
We understand that your Wi-Fi has been successfully connected to your Roku device for the past year, but it appears there are connectivity issues at the moment. We kindly suggest trying to reset the connection. Please make sure you have your Wi-Fi credentials available.
Network reset
After the network reset is done, your Roku device will restart and you will need to return to the Settings menu and set up your wireless network again.
Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jharra
Hi RokuJharra-Q,
I followed your instructions. Still getting the same resul: "Unable to connect to wireless network."
Both devices were working without any problems until 2 days ago and suddenly both have the same issue. All the other devices that rely on the wifi network are working fine.
😕🤔
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Did you try the advice offered by @renojim and change your wifi password in your router's settings? (use simple password with numbers and letters, no special characters, no spaces).
After changing the password, reboot both the router and the Roku device and try connecting again.
I only have simple wifi password with just numbers and letters, without any spaces or special characters.
