Hi @Larryn2o,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Thanks for sharing your concern about your Roku outdoor camera's battery draining too fast. Don't worry, we are here to help you with this.
Here are a number of factors that can negatively impact the battery life of the cameras:
- Frequently watching the live stream, or keeping the live stream open for long periods of time.
- Using Scheduled Recording for long periods of time.
- Running a Time Lapse.
- Having Motion Detection getting triggered frequently.
We recommend you try the following:
- Make sure both the Roku Outdoor Camera (Battery) and Roku Base Station are updated to the latest firmware.
- Check the signal strength of the Roku Outdoor Camera (Battery) and try repositioning the camera or base station to ensure it’s at 3 bars for testing.
- Check the battery usage by going to the affected camera in the Roku Smart Home app by doing the following
- Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner
- Tap Device info
- Tap Battery Usage
- The page will show the breakdown of the battery from the last full charge. proceed further.
If the days and all usage is low, please provide us with the following details:
- In the Roku Smart Home app, tap Account > Roku Support > Submit a Log.
- Choose the Outdoor Camera > Battery Performance.
- Next, fill out the details, and ensure the Send log files are checked, then tap Submit.
We hope to get this sorted out soon and look forward to your response.
Thanks,
Riamie
