I have four indoor CS1000X cameras and they all work fine using the Andoid Smart Home app on my phone. However, the seemingly new option of using the Smart Home Web View just shows the error message "Camera is not supported on this browser" for each camera. I'm using the latest version of Firefox on Windows10. What's the fix?
Hi, @NoJumpJackFlash.
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Thanks for bringing us this issue about the Smart Home web view. We're ere tp provide some steps you can try.
Could you please try using another browser? If it doesn't work, try using another device. Let's see if that would make any difference.
If the issue persists, please let us know.
Thanks,
The Roku Community Team
Since Firefox has all the privacy and security features I want and use, and Google and Microsoft are not so trustworthy, I will not use another browser.
Do you not know if Firefox - a Very commonly used browser - is supported or not? If not why?
Please respond when you have a definitive answer.
Thanks.
Hi, @NoJumpJackFlash.

As usual, I'm asked to do the product testing that Roku should have already done. I've been in IT for over 30 years and continue to be amazed at Roku's lack of details WRT "System Requirements" or "Known Issues".
There should be some documentation about browser compatibility, versions, OS's, etc., but there is not.
I have a high end Dell XPS17 9710 laptop with 64GB RAM and fast multi-core CPUs - all up-to-date WRT firmware. I'm running Windows 10 with all latest updates.
Unless the Smart Home Web View simply doesn't work with Firefox, there's no reason it shouldn't work on my laptop. BTW, it also doesn't work on Android Firefox on my Samsung phone, though the Smart Home App works fine.
So I've tried another device and I won't use another browser. Will I just have to write this off as yet another Roku failure?
Thanks.
Hi, @NoJumpJackFlash.
Thanks for getting back to us!
We'd like to know more about the issue you're having. Could you please provide us with the version of your Mozilla Firefox? Also, please send us a screenshot of the error message for reference.
We'll wait for your response.
Thanks,
The Roku Community Team
I'm using Firefox 134.0.1 (64 bit) on latest (up-to-date) Win10 laptop. The screenshot simply shows "Camera is not supported on this browser". It's the same for the other three as well.
For some reason the screenshot image won't paste into this message box, but I can paste it anywhere else. Is that a security feature for these messages?
I hope this helps you resolve this issue.
Thanks.
