I have 2 Roku express devices experiencing the same issue with youtube. Both are Roku Express models with updated system and channel software. The current device I am using is Model 3930 Device ID s008326MJNVY Software version 14 with Youtube version 2.23 build 115025180.
For the past 2 days any video played on either Roku device fails at 30 seconds with a QR code saying "Something went wrong Try again or scan the QR code for more info." The QR code sends me to the following link: support.google.com/youtube/answer/3037019
I have done the following: attempt to update the devices (no updates available), attempt to update Youtube (no updates available), removed and reinstalled Youtube. hard reset the devices by removing the power, reset my router, switched to cellular hotspot from my phone.
I can verify this is not a Youtube account issue as videos play normally on my phone and computer logged in to the same account. I have noted no other playback issues with other applications on either device.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I have three Roku Express devices, two are failing in this manner and one is not. I have no problem viewing YouTube videos on my desktop PC or phone.
