Newsmax buffering on Xfinity

Using Roku to access Xfinity channel lineup. Newsmax is constantly freezing (buffering) on all TVs including Roku TVs. My system has been complete for over 3 months, but this problem is 2 days old.

Update: If you are still having issues with Newsmax channels or any other content on your Xfinity Stream app, please contact the Xfinity Stream channel provider for further assistance. They control and manage this app through the Roku streaming platform.

We understand you are having a problem with the Newsmax channel since it is constantly freezing and buffering. We're happy to assist you further.

In some cases, removing the channel helps to resolve the issue. If you haven't tried it yet, you can remove the affected channel and re-install it. 

To ensure the process is successful, restart your device before adding the channel back in. We would recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.) > System restart.

I believe Comcast/Xfinity is freezing Newsmax on purpose. Trying to limit conservative speech. Newsmax is only app that freezes. All others work fine. I am not going to let this go.

I have done all the steps without success. Its Xfinity thats the problem. Limiting fee speech.

Hi, I have 2 roku sticks and a firestick, all running the xfinity streaming app, latest versions. Both roku sticks freeze after the first buffer reload watching newsmax, the firestick has no problems. Not a conspiracy, but certainly a technical problem somewhere. Hard to say where the the issue originates. Common factors are xfinity and roku. This is a real problem. I have 2 spare sticks, one a firestick, one a roku stick. I prefer the roku sticks for ease of use, but won't hesitate to replace one of the roku sticks, just for the convenience of being able to watch newsmax in my living room when I so choose. Any help would be appreciated.

Since you have different devices, you can see how different the Roku Xfinity app is. It looks like the X1 interface. It probably talks to Comcast differently.

What model Roku devices do you have? You can find the exact model number at settings/system/about. Some models are pickier about data formats, or may have limited memory for buffering.

This problem showed up about 2 days ago on both sticks. I will get the the model numbers. One stick is less than a year old. I have been using them without any issues until now. I will get back to use with the model numbers. The older stick probably about 5 years old. I will get back to you with the model numbers. Thanks for your prompt reply.

my newsmax is ok on xfinity tv box tv. problem seems to be with xfinity stream app on roku tv

Have not tried app from tablet yet

I'm using 2 roku sticks, streaming stick+ and xpress4k+, both have the same issues. Currently logged into  xfinity.com and watching the newsmax channel on my desktop. When the app rebuffers, I see 3 dots moving across the screen, indicating a pause,  after 1 - 3 seconds the buffer is returned and the program continues with no issues. This is an xfinity streaming app buffering issue running on a roku stick. How can the right parties be notified so a fix can be eventually implemented? I prefer roku sticks over fire sticks:). Currently, I'm forced to use a roku stick on my samsung smart tv because in 2016, xfinity refused to make the required changes to their latest release because of the deprecated internet browser that is part of the operating system on my smart tv. At the time my tv was only 2 yrs old. Still watching newsmax on my desktop - no issues.
