Hey all. Love all of my Roku streaming devices. I just installed a new 4k express streaming device on an older plasma tv. I know. It is old. We love to listen to rain and thunder at night so we just turn on the youtube app and pick a video that has a black screen. On my old Firestick, when I picked the video in the youtube app after the text in the video went off, the screen literally went jet black. No glow, room was totally dark. Now I've installed my new Roku, and the screen is black, but it is still back lit. The whole room is lit up.
Is there a setting or update for this? I know it can be done because of the old firestick. I love my Roku stick so much better but this one thing is irritating at the moment.
Please help
Kevin

Re: YouTube app and black screen during ambience style videos
I've already went down the avenue of hitting the * key on the remote and selecting turn off screen. On my Roku TV in my mancave that works. But it looks like on the streaming sticks this is not an option.

Re: YouTube app and black screen during ambience style videos
Perhaps your TV itself has a control to black out the screen but play the audio. My low end JVC does. My expensive Samsung dies not.
