I purchased two Roku Express 4k+ streaming units from Amazon and they each seemed to work well for the first 3 months; but then both slowly started to degrade in streaming video quality and repeatedly lost the remote settings. Now (first is just under a year old and the 2nd is about 6 months) they are essentially unusable. Video streaming is so pixelated you can't watch sports at all and the move or TV quality looks like SD on my 2022 top of the line Samsung TV. In fact the Samsung TV streams in much better quality (without the Roku box) using the same internet app. At first resetting the power (restart in the system menu) seemed to help; but the time interval for which reasonable video quality was restored became shorter and shorter. At this point the older unit is useless. Once reset, the newer unit will operate normally for about a hour or two. Even that unit has to have its remote control settings reset using the voice remote setup each time to start a viewing session if you want it to control the TV volume and power. The remotes also "eat" batteries as I have to replace them every week or two. I've never had a streaming device that worked so well initially almost completely fail this quickly. Since I'm now two for two on these devices I'd have to think that's just the inherent quality of these products.
