Roku will not play ripped DVDs
I have a system which consists of an HP Z420 workstation purposed as a home server. This is running Windows Server 2019. It has the latest version of PlexMedia server installed. I use MDRP, a Mac based DVD ripping program to rip DVDs to MP4. I have a Roku ultra streaming device, older version, connected by wi-fi.
According to the Roku the wireless connection is excellent and has a speed of 198mbps
When I try to play a ripped dvd on the Roku via plex a percentage of 13% comes up and does not get any higher. I then get a message that says "playback has stopped due to multiple playback errors . Please check your connection and try again"
I have also tried the Handbrake/vlc combo but the picture was corrupt.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

Re: Roku will not play ripped DVDs
It's hard to say, but it's often the audio track that's the problem. I convert my DVDs to MP4 with an AAC and a AC3 audio track and they always play.

Re: Roku will not play ripped DVDs
Try Emby, I've always had issues with Plex regardless of the playback device.
