TCL Model 32S327 - All YouTube videos pixelated

Jump to solution

Today while watching a YouTube video on my TCL TV, the picture suddenly significantly pixelated. It's now happening for every video where the first 3-4 seconds are clear and then after that it becomes heavily pixelated. I took the following steps:

  • Exited out of YouTube and reopend the app - this solved it for the video I was originally watching but didn't work for the next
  • Unplugged TV and plugged it back in
  • Restarted my router
  • Uninstalled the app and reinstalled
  • Unplugged TV AGAIN
  • Checked for YouTube and Roku system updates

I'm on a 5G internet connection and my signal strength is excellent.

Is there anything else I should try to resolve this issue?

This has been reported with YouTube on sets that have received the Roku 13 update, and affects the automatic picture quality setting choosing a very low resolution setting..

Try this..

While viewing a YouTube video:

  • click the OK button on your remote to display control options
  • move to Settings (gear icon) and click on it
  • click on Quality on the popup menu
  • choose the resolution for your TV instead of Auto.
  • exit the menu

Hey, was looking for an answer to this and found a workaround tweaking with the settings. If you go to the tcl tv settings, apps and select youtube, you have the option to uninstall updates, this should sort the issue once you restart youtube. I’ve heard it’s due to an update for roku tvs made a while back.

Hope this helps 🙂
