since writing this it turns out that this was a seperate issue, only affecting Stranger Things…the wider ID’d issue our Roku has developed causes far worse problems…I think it may be to do with the way it finds the router, swapping between 2.4 and 5 mghz…or something!
Hi. I am having this same issue, were you able to find a solution??

I have done all the things recommended but still cannot launch apps. Rebooted router, did a system reset. Can watch ROKU on ipad fine and other TVS are ok.
I have unplugged my tv and Roku device for a few minutes and it still will not work, and I replaced the batteries in my remote. Now what?
