Roku Ultra 4850R Turns Screen Magenta Color at times

I recently added a Roku 4850R model to my home system and it is periodically turning the screen on my LG OLED TV to a magenta hue. It seems to do so in most apps like Netflix and Tubi. It reverts to normal after power cyling the TV and AV receiver.

I am not sure why it happens. I believe my cabling is fine. There is a Yamaha AV receiver involved. The 4850R replaced a 4800 model Ultra that worked fine for years. Does any know if this is a bug or if there is a setting I might need to tweak?

It is listed at Model: 4850X - Ultra

Software version: 14.0

Thanks,
Lee

Re: Roku Ultra 4850R Turns Screen Magenta Color at times

Hi, @leecast

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community.

We understand the issue you have encountered with your Roku Ultra, wherein the display turns into a Magenta color periodically, and we're here to help. We would recommend performing a system restart as a troubleshooting step to resolve the issue. Kindly follow the instructions below:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
  5. Select System restart

If the issue persists after performing the troubleshooting steps above, we'd like to investigate further. We would like to gather the following details so our team can review this case.

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
  • Does the issue occur if the Roku Ultra is connected directly to the TV and not through the AVR? If so, what is your TV Make Model?
  • Photo or a video referring to the issue.

We hope to hear back a response from you. Your input is valuable to us in providing support and resolution to this matter.

Best wishes,
Kash
