PBS app was working last night but won’t open now. Did the usual, removed and reloaded app, powered down everything and rebooted. No help.

PBS App Version 5.8 build 4 is the current version for PBS Roku App. You can view the app version by selecting the PBS App then hitting the asterisk/star | * | key.
Check to make sure your PBS membership hasn't expired. You may need to go through the PBS Passport activation again and request a new activation key code.
After 4 days of not working the PBS app opened and asked me to register again and select my local pbs station. No clue what caused this problem.
