Re: Low power message when using power adapter

Jump to solution

I bought a Roku express, as a Christmas present for my friend, and had this problem. I did everything mentioned here and still had the problem. What worked for me was to do a factory reset, after I plugged it into a wall power source.

Eventually I bought a new USB cable for it (a cheap but good quality one from Amazon) and that seems to have solved the problem. I think these units are supplied with very poor quality cables.

Hi @BB28,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand that you are getting an error "Low power" on your Roku Express when connected to a power adapter. No worries, we are here to help.

This error means that your power adapter isn't providing enough power to your device, often due to using a non-Roku adapter or an insufficient USB port. Try using the original Roku power adapter or connecting directly to a wall outlet. Also, please confirm the exact model of your Roku Express.

We look forward to your response.

Cheers,

hi, just managed to get mine going again by

unplugging the hdmi and power from the box

plug power into the back of roku box it should already be in the socket at the other end

then plug the hdmi in the back of the roku

the tv was already on hdmi source and switched on.

samsung tv if it matters.

worked for me.
