In the past, pressing Instant Replay during FF would (1) return to normal speed Play AND (2) skip back a few seconds. Now, pressing Instant Replay during FF does absolutely nothing. Recorded program continues to FF. (Using Roku brand Remote control.)
This seems to be a result of some software change because it was first seen on a Roku Streaming Stick 4K on 10/17/24 and only a day later on a TCL Roku TV in the same household. (On 10/17, the Roku TV was NOT exhibiting this new behavior.)
BRING BACK THE OLD BEHAVIOR. (It perfectly made up for the reaction time to press the button while FF'ing to your desired place.)

Hi, @wljvc
Thanks for your response.
In this regard, we would recommend reaching out to DirecTV support and inquiring further about this matter. Channel providers manage the channel's functionality, design, and user interface which includes the FF feature. DirecTV can provide a workaround or create an update with their app on the Roku platform to address the feature malfunction.
For more information, you can reach them at DIRECTV® Official Site | Support
We hope this will be sorted out soon.
Best wishes,
Kash

Re: Instant Replay button during FF
I see this behavior while in the Directv app, playing back recorded programs from their cloud DVR.

Re: Instant Replay button during FF
Same behavior as reported in my original post occurs while streaming content via the Roku Channel. Specifically, while Fast Forwarding a recorded "Cops" episode, pressing the Instant Replay button HAS NO EFFECT AT ALL. Program material continues to Fast Forward.

Re: Instant Replay button during FF
I first saw this while using the Directv app. The Moderator's comment (above) laid the responsibility onto Directv. Since I experimented and reported the same situation exists in Roku's own app, I haven't heard a peep. Maybe if more folks report this, they'll look again.

Re: Instant Replay button during FF
@MetFan2u, are you also using the DirecTV app?
@wljvc, I've never seen the behavior described here in any Roku app (I don't have DirecTV) and I have have plenty of devices that haven't updated to 14.0.4. Pressing Instant Replay while fast forwarding does nothing in any app I've tried. That would point to a change by DirecTV to their app.

Re: Instant Replay button during FF
I have experienced the behavior I have described in both the Directv and Roku Channel apps on my Roku Streaming Stick 4K and TCL Roku TV.
