@JoelB1, it's not Roku's app; it's Hulu's.  There's nothing for Roku to fix.

Thanks for the clarification. I'd assumed, apparently wrongly, that roku developed the apps for the streaming services to run on their platform. I'd expect that was the case when roku was an upstart, but I suppose not so much now. I'd hate to lay blame on the wrong folks.

Yea had the roku ultra for a week and going to return it for this reason.

In these circumstances, we highly recommend contacting the Customer Support of the Hulu app for further clarification and assistance, as they are the ones who created, maintained, and updated their app independently on the Roku streaming platform.

This is still happening as of 4/10/2024. When I try to fast forward through commercials on a DVR'd Hulu show on my Roku Ultra, I get the message "Your video will continue at this point after the break" and it won't fast forward. When I switch to the Hulu app on my Samsung Smart TV, the problem goes away and I can fast forward through commercials on the same show perfectly fine.

Please be advised that Roku only transmits the channel and is not responsible for the ads and contents within an app. The contents and ads are solely chosen by the respective channel, and we have no control over the programming or operation of the channel.

With that being said, we would recommend reaching out to Hulu Support to report the issue and for further help.

Just read the conversation on this topic.  It appears that Roku is punting to Hulu on this.  I have used Roku's for years.  Could it be that Roku has worked out a deal with Hulu to make you watch commercials and they get a piece of the action?  I dropped satellite TV three months ago and switched to Hulu live TV no adds.  I am watching more ads now than I ever have because of not being able to fast forward through the commercials.  I'm paying extra to Hulu for no ads but so far the only programs I've been able to watch with no ads are on Hulu, Disney, ABC and sometimes Fox.  This leaves a huge amount of shows that have ads. (False advertising by Hulu). To add insult to injury (to my pocketbook) I can't fast forward though the commercials on the shows that have commercials.  I've spent a couple of hours on the phone with Hulu customer service that was a total waste of time.  So after reading the above, it appears I need to stop buying Roku's and switch to You Tube TV.  Thank you to those above who have taken the time to try and fix this issue.

I have the same issue, if the program (NASCAR race) is being recorded and I'm currently watching the race on delay so that I can purposely fast forward through commercial. When I press the arrow key over it tells me my program will continue at this point once commercials are finished. I don't get this on my hulu app on my phone or on my the app on my TV ONLY ROKU has this problem. For Roku to deny this is so ridiculous, also to say this is solved is even more ridiculous. Please do not ask me for any other details you have enough information to fix the issue.
