ESPN App very slow to load

My ESPN app is very slow opening and sometimes fails to open..  I have removed the app, restarted the Roku device, and reinstalled the app.  This is occuring on Roku streaming stick 4k's and TCL Roku TVs.  My internet connection is good to excellent on all devices.  The ESPN app works fine on my Apple TV and Chromecast with Google TV devices.  Anyone else having this problem with the ESPN app?

Try unplugging the Roku for 30 to 60 seconds and see if that helps.

Re: ESPN App very slow to load

I have had the same problem for 2 weeks. I even get a Network Error - we are unable to connect you to the service... But my Internet is fine as tested on my TV, phone, and other Roku apps.

I tried unplugging and plugging in the Roku, and again after waiting to seconds and I still have the same issue. This is for a Roku Ultra. My other Roku devices are fine with ESPN. I've also tried deleting and reading the ESPN app several times.

Re: ESPN App very slow to load

Hi, @Austinchief.

Great to see you here in the Roku Community!

Being unable to access your favorite channel due to a playback issue could be very frustrating, and we completely understand that. To get this sorted out, we're here to take a closer look at it.

Could you please provide us with a photo of the exact behavior of the app on your Roku?

In the meantime, we recommend trying to connect your Roku Ultra to an alternative internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot, as a necessary step to isolate the issue. Let us know if it persists.

Looking forward to what you find out.

Best,
The Roku Community Team
