Solving playback issues

We have a ROKU sound box running on our tv. It has a dark shadow about 1/3 way from bottom to top. It is not the that is causing it. It works fine. I can turn it on manually with the 5 taps on home, one on up arrow, 2 on the curved circle and 2 on fast forward then turn on the tv. Works sometimes for hours others like today it only helps for a short time. Can you tell us what is wrong? Thank you.

Thank you for your help.  I am lost in this one.  Because the tv has only been on a short time, the dark part of the picture from bottom up is lighter but gets darker as time goes by.  I can restart using the manual restart.  But goes in and out all the time tv is on.

Could you name the channels, particular shows, or episodes affected by this display issue? Would hooking this Roku device to a different TV have the same result? Have you clicked on the star button on your remote during playback for additional picture settings?
