Re: Doorbell camera Error 1003

Jump to solution

Yes my cam was working with samsung galaxy s24 for almost a year. All of a sudden, past two days it stopped working all together. I recharged it, hard reset router, downloaded latest app which I already had, reset the doorbell. And my internet works for everything else. Then it started recording events again but no live feed, just the error. App options not working.

Re: Smart Home App Crashing daily

Jump to solution

March 12, 2024 App crashed again. I am so grateful to you Baelydon because I logged out and back in - and it all works fine. It seems to die over night. I go to bed with it working, I wake up with it not connecting.

Everytime I have to reinstall or log out, I have to verify all of it by a code sent to my phone. Then the same process with my son he has to get me to give him the verify codes for his phone and tablet. It's really annoying to deal with everyday before I can turn my lights on or check events or look at the live cameras.

Hey everyone,

If you’re getting “Error code 1003: Failed to connect. Please check your mobile,” reinstalling the Smart Home app has helped some users.

Also, try logging out of the Smart Home app and then logging back in.

If that doesn’t work, please send over the following details:

  • Camera model, MAC address, and firmware version
  • Phone brand, model, and OS version
  • Make/model of your modem/router
  • Who is your ISP
  • Log ID (you can find this in the Smart Home app under Account > Roku Support > Submit a Log)

Heads up: We’ll mark this as solved to keep it tidy!

Please keep us posted.

Cheers,

@RokuMaryEF So, for those of us without a doorbell camera are to do what?  Create yet another thread?

Did you even bother to read the comments in both threads, or did you just blindly lump them together? (Because I know I didn't reply to a thread pertaining to doorbell cameras!)

Marking this as resolved when it is in fact NOT resolved, calling a workaround a solution when it doesn't actually fix the problem, is asinine. Uninstalling the app & reinstalling, and/or logging out and back in again is a temporary fix, aka a workaround, not a solution.

This is NOT Solved. You changed the title of my post and decided you have solved it. I am very confused as you did NOT read anything I have posted. You suggested I reinstall it. If you READ my post it would inform you I reinstalled it many times! I am very disappointed in how you have taken over my post, changed the title to say camera error 1003.

This is not resolved in any way. It's like you didn't even read my posts.

I posted all that list of my ROKU home products not working, I've repeatedly posted its still crashing every few days. Reinstalled it multiple times.

I've spent a lot of money on all your home products including a home security system. You did NOT give me an answer to my issue and appear to not even read it. I don't appreciate you changing the title of my post to say what you wanted it to when the error 1003 message ISNT THE ONLY ERROR MESSAGE.

Many others posted on the app site, several have posted here in this thread about the same issue and it is NOT RESOLVED.

I do not recommend your products because your app is faulty and crashes every day. Reinstalling does not work. Logging out and back in seems to help it temporarily but it continues to happen.

Its not resolved and apparently you edit my issues to say what you want it to.

Thanks for nothing.

Cant view live feed from roku doorbell

Jump to solution

Hello. As of yesterday evening 3/12/25. I haven't been able to view thr live feed on my wire-free doorbell camera. The battery is charged. I cant check the firmware version because everytime I click kn it or even go to settings a little message pops up and says "operation failed" I've gone through everything that the customer support has told me which includes the following:

Restarting my phone

Checking internet and mobile data connection

Restarting the camera

I have tried every single possible solution to the problem and nothing.

This is not solved.

There are two ways of fixing this error that I have found. Uninstall the app and reinstall it. Or, go into the App info of the Android app and clear the data. Clearing the cache does nothing for this. When clearing the data it removes your profile from the app. You will need to log back into the app. Once you do that, the app will work fine for a couple of days, then the error will happen again.

I am still working on finding a solution besides clearing my user data.

That latest issue I found was one camera had the wrong time & date. I have synced the correct information. let's see if that is the actual cause of the problem.

What lead me to this is an error code of 1003 is usually a time & date error or an out of error date on most devices.

Doorbell camera Error 1003

Jump to solution

On our about 3/3/15, I could not zoom on my wired camera.  There was an update to the software on or about 3/7/25 and it all went to **bleep** after that.  Now my wi-fi doorbell camera gives me the Error 1003, we can see events, but not the live feed.  I have done every single tip listed here and still have to remove and reinstall the app daily.  Obviously something happened in your latest update.  If this is not fixed we will have to cancel the subscription since we are paying for basically nothing.  PLEASE, PLEASE read our comments and fix this issue!!!!!!
