I show 35.8% battery usage for today and haven't opened the app at all.
Phone is Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Android v 14
OneUI v 6.1
I very rarely use the Roku app in general. I have 3 devices, Roku Ultra, TCL with Roku, and Roku Stick.
This appears to happen more recently. No Android OS upgrade I'm aware of.
The TCL had not been connected to the internet for a while so I updated its Roku OS a week ago using the TV remote, not the app.
I do not use private listening mode and don't think I've ever used it.
I cleared cache and un-installed and re-installed the Roku App on my Android already.
I woke up this morning to my Galaxy S22+ sitting at 10% battery even though I thought I had charged it later yesterday. I then watched the phone drain from 10% to shutdown in minutes. Looking at the battery data Roku was draining 30% since midnight. System resource usage shows CPU use at 6 hours and 45 minutes and just under 30,000 packets over wifi. I never even open the app. Usage time is 1 minute. Background usage is 1 minute. There are 3 Roku devices in the house an ultra, SS+ and a SS4k.
Android version 14
One UI version 6.1
This happens to me too on my S24 ultra on Android 14. This was reported well over a year ago and is still an issue, were all of their devs fired or something?
