Roku mobile app

I have roku ultra and I can’t watch the roku channel on my ipad and watch a different program-on the roku channel on the tv. The app forces me to connect to the roku device which basically forces me to watch the same program on both.

We appreciate you for sharing your experience here with us, and we'd like to know more about this so we can help further. May we know if the content you're watching has the option of "Watch this on mobile"? Additionally, please be advised that only specific shows or contents are only playable on the Roku mobile app.

My experience is only with the Android Roku remote app version.  I expect the iOS version would be about the same...

From the initial Roku remote app screen, scroll down (maybe way down) to find The Roku Channel section and click the Browse link to see available content.  When you click on a program to watch, one of the options you are presented is "Watch now on mobile" to view it on your phone or tablet.
