Word press problems
I've been working on a Roku channel with Direct publisher and Wordpress with WP smart tv . I've watched http://5thingsseries.com/building-a-roku-channel/ this video several times and followed his steps precisely. However, I cannot get the JSON feed url to work. I keep getting an error (The server returned a non-200 status code - (404).) I was wondering if it has anything to do with iPage hosting my site. Is there something that keeps this from working? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I would love to get this fixed.

Make sure you have Permalinks enabled. That's usually the problem with 404 errors.

I had a similar problem. I could not make the direct publisher wordpress wp smart tv plugin work either. Does anyone have a test JSON feed url or know where I could find one. After many tries at solving the problem I decided to ask someone with experience about where to find a test JSON feed and imformation on creating one for an rss feed. Thanks

Re: Word press problems
In version 1.4 (coming later this week) I'm including a button so you can download a JSON feed file, then use it on one of the free services that host JSON files. This should clear up a lot of the issues with shared hosting blocking the feed from being processed.

Hey Rob:
Wouldn't that still be an issue as your graphics files (and SRT files, BIF files, etc) are still being hosted on your WP provider? (BTW, will 1.4 allow for external URLs for these files?)
FWIW, I've frozen my jetpack version since I installed 1.3.1. Last time I updated it it, it crashed my WP site and I had to restore from a backup.

Since v1.2 you've been able to enter "off site" files. Just enter the URL and save.

I haven't had any issues on our installs with Jetpack and WPSTV. What host are you running on?
*Most* of the support tickets thus far had to do with issues on budget hosts, which should be all fixed with 1.3.6.

Re: Word press problems
Hey Rob:
YOU CAN?! I know you had mentioned it would be available, but the GUI seemed to suggest I had to upload a file for trick play or CC file...not that I could paste an external URL in. Awesome.
My host is Host Duplex; who have bene excellent over the past few years.
I presumed the jetpack plugin wasn't 100% compatible with my version of WP, or had a conflict with another plugin. Thus far, there have been no issues with the old version of JetPack. Perhaps I'll disable the jetpack plugin, add external URLs to My Videos, and see if I get an all good on the feed status form roku.com.
Thanks!

Just had a look at Host Duplex, looks like a solid choice. The Jetpack issue is most likely an issue with another plugin, but I don't mind taking a look if you need me to. Everything in WPSTV is based on Automattic's standards, so any of their plugins should work without any conflicts.

Re: Word press problems
Hey Guys! I followed all the steps and reviewed all the posts about the updates. While my URL link is now working, I am still getting an error message in the Feed Status saying "Unable to download from feedUrl." Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
