CDN for adult films

Now that we know we can't use Roku Integrated Billing for adult channels, it has me wondering about where these films would be stored.

I've looked through the documentation for Amazon S3, which is what we had planned to use for this client's channel, but now I'm second guessing. Is anyone using Amazon S3 for this kind of content, and has it been a problem?

Thanks!

Re: CDN for adult films

You can look into Dacast. They are opened to adult content (up to a certain point), but you cannot post it on the company's portal, and you cannot use Paypal. Maybe it will still suite your client's needs.

Re: CDN for adult films

I used to be at Dacast, but I came to Roku to reach a larger audience. Never worked with adult content though, but I recall having read about that in their terms of services. Yes, I do read the small prints. Smiley LOL

Re: CDN for adult films

That looks like it's more than just a bit bucket for these films, which is what we want. The idea is to host the files on a service like Akamai, or Amazon S3, for streaming to the Roku, and (maybe, eventually) other platforms.

We're going to do the encoding ourselves in-house. So we're really just looking for a place to put our encoded files that has high reliability, high uptime rates and low bandwidth costs. ...And doesn't care about the content.

Thanks!

Re: CDN for adult films

So far we have confirmation from Amazon that their S3 service is fine with it, as well as ScaleEngine. The pricing at ScaleEngine looks attractive, but we are currently leaning towards Amazon.

Has anyone here used ScaleEngine, and if so what do you think?
