Upgraded my remote but Roku will not "forget' other one

Jump to solution

So I just upgraded from Roku Voice Remote Pro to the new 2nd edition with backlight. How can I unpair the older one? When I say "find my remote" it only beeps older one. I have done the "forget remote" routine! Moved old one out of the room which does not beep when trying it but new one also doesn't.

Thank you for keeping us posted, @jwsjewels!

Thanks for your efforts and for letting us know the update. Please try removing the remote from the device (follow the first steps above) and, at the same time, resetting your old remote, by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. If your remote has a battery compartment, try removing the batteries as well and check if it makes any difference.

Please let us know if the issue is fixed or reply back to the thread for further assistance, we will be glad to help you.

Thanks,
Jharra

Hi @jwsjewels,

Thanks for dropping by here in the Roku Community!

We're thrilled that you've got the Roku Voice Remote Pro 2nd Edition, and we're here to help you out.

To get started, you can easily forget or remove your old remote from your Roku device or TV by following these simple steps:

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Scroll down to Remote and Devices
  4. Select Remotes
  5. Then pick the remote you want to remove from the list on the right.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you need anything else.

Best regards,
Jharra

Thanks for the reply

I have done that and it keeps popping back in the list. So this means if I ask to find my "new remote" it defaults to the old one again
