With new batteries you check remote is still working by pointing it at you cellphone camera if you see flashes it's working, no flashes it's bad. That's if this is an IR remote, if it has microphone key it's wifi remote and wouldn't show flashes in the camera when working correctly.
If it's bad you have to get in touch with TV manufacturer, Roku only supplies UI for Roku TV's.
