Hello, I have a problem with a particular Roku remote since I purchased it.
The problem is that when the roku device starts (a Roku straming stick 4K), the remote works ok for a few seconds, until the Roku device connects to the internet. The second the Roku device connects to my home internet, the remote stops responding, though it says it is connected in the Roku screen. I can check this because when this happens, I need to start using the Roku app in Android in order to control my device.
Sometimes, the remote starts working again unexpectedly for a few seconds, and stops.
Battery is ok and it shows as paired and connected in the Roku screen. This is a Roku Voice remote. I tried the usual re-pairing with no luck.
I suspected some kind of interference with the wifi channel, but this happens even with the remote 1 ft away from the TV. I also have another Roku in another room that works flawlessly with the same Wifi network.
Weird stuff. Any ideas? Thanks!
Weird stuff, indeed. I'd suspect a faulty remote. If it's still under warranty, maybe you can get them to send you another one. Some things I'd try are a different Wi-Fi channel (since the remote uses the same channel as the stick) and/or a different band - if you're connecting your stick to 5GHz, try 2.4GHz or vice versa. If you use the same SSID for both bands, try using a different SSID for each one. Does your other Roku device also use a voice remote? If so, have you tried swapping them?

Thanks for the tips. I had tried changing the bands/channel of my network before.
But it never occurred to me to try swapping the remotes. I did that today and... now BOTH work.
Just to check that I am not crazy I swapped them once again, and the "faulty" one does NOT work again.
So weird... but thank you for the idea!
