No Volume, no Mute and other functions do not work.

My last Roku 2 remote worked fine.

Pressing pairing buttons shows pairing, but nothing works.

Very frustrating

You may find your Roku is only receptive to the pairing request from the remote for a short period of time after it starts up. Try pulling the power to the Roku for a few seconds then plugging it back in and waiting for it to start up before reinserting the batteries in the remote and pressing the pairing button.

- Whether you have any external audio devices connected.

Additionally, could you clarify what is and isn’t working? For example, is the remote unable to pair at all, or are specific functions like the volume or power not working?

You do not use the pairing button to program a TV to the remote. Pairing button to get the Roku remote controlling the Roku only. To program the tv:

Settings> remote & devices> remote> remote in USE> program tv> follow prompts
