Hi there,
I see that these questions have been asked for years, but I do not see that Roku has provided an answer or a fix, and it doesn't appear that the community has figured it out either. I have two devices; 3941X Roku Express 4K+ (SN: X01600W24P8Y) and 3920X Roku Premiere (SN: YH0093640402) that have had this problem since day one. I've been using Roku products since 2007, and the older products did not have these issues. I like Roku, but when I add the amount of money I have spent on batteries over the years, I am not exaggerating when I say I could have bought the newest Apple TV.
Is there a solution I am not aware of?
Thank you!
Did your older models have IR or RF remotes? I’ve always assumed that it was the Wi-Fi remotes and that the issue might be environmental – ie: something on the network, or noise from other networks etc. However, I’ve never had the problem myself (and I’ve used both IR and RF remotes) so I’ve never followed it in detail.
Hi,
I really do not know. I want to say that the older ones were Wi-Fi, but those worked just fine. It is these newer ones that are the problem, at least in my case.
Hi @korisnik,
Welcome, and thank you for posting here at the Roku Community!
We appreciate you reaching us here regarding your remote issues. No worries, we're here to find you the best resolution possible.
May we know when and where did you purchase your remote? For more information about our device warranty, visit our Support page here: Player warranty and license agreement
In the meantime, you can use the Roku mobile app as an alternative to a physical remote. It has a private listening feature and works well with all of Roku's streaming devices/TVs.
Here's our Support article for further details and to help you install it: How to install the Roku mobile app
Keep us posted on how it goes, and we'd be more than happy to continue assisting you with this.
Thanks,
Carly
Amazon is where I bought my Roku devices. I do not think this matters much. It's obvious that people are having issues and you're really not helping or accepting responsibility. You keep us running in circles by suggesting that we're doing something wrong. This is a remote, not a rocket.
