Roku remote not blinking / not working

Jump to solution

I've been trying to use the remote but is not working. The green light is not blinking. I changed batteries already and tried pairing it with the back and home button pressed at once. Also plugged and unplugged Roku device for more than 20 seconds. This is the Roku Express 4K and the remote control is the one that came in the box

Hi, @arios. Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you for reaching out about the issue with your Roku remote. It might not be the batteries causing the problem but rather the remote setup. In the meantime, try resetting your remote and setting it up to control your TV.

We recommend trying the following steps to help resolve this issue:

Reboot your voice remote and device

Use the following steps to restart your streaming device.

  1. Remove the power cord from your streaming device
  2. Wait at least 5 seconds
  3. Re-connect the power cord

If your voice remote uses standard AA or AAA, you can reboot it by removing and reinstalling it.

  1. Remove the battery cover on the back of your remote
  2. Remove both batteries from the battery compartment
  3. Re-insert the negative (-) end of a battery first and then gently push the positive (+) end until the battery clicks into place
  4. Repeat the previous step to install the second battery
  5. Put the battery cover back on your remote

Repair your voice remote to your streaming device

If your voice remote has a pairing button, it will be located either on the back of the remote or under the battery cover. Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds or until you see the status light begin to flash.

If your voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home buttons for 5 seconds or until you see the status light begin to flash.

Please try doing this and see if it helps with what you're experiencing.

Please keep us posted!

Thanks,
Jharra

My Roku in not work and was working just fine in the past.   Replaced batteries and tried the reset button on the device.   I have no light on my device.   Need to have it replaced?   I can't talk to a person at Roku which very frustrating.
